Hello and welcome.
In essence, this page and the advice and adventures on offer are born out of a love for riding and the sense of adventure, exploration, fun and freedom it brings.
I’ve never ridden in a cycling pack across France, rebuilt a derailer or even worn Lycra. I’m a filmmaker and educator and life long bike rider in my other life.
Riding an ebike for me has always been about transport, exploration and pleasure and gives me a sense of freedom, power and flow that I’ve only experienced through skiing and surfing.
I was first introduced to e-bikes about 5 years ago. I borrowed a friends Hybrid Focus out near Cunninghams Gap and after an hour or so effortlessly winding my way up and down country dirt roads and riding 40 km hardly breaking a sweat, I was sold.
Like all freshly minted addicts, I immediately returned home determined to buy one. As a good ebike isn’t cheap, I bought my first one second hand. Then it was time to get one for my wife and our teenage kids.
In the process I became a lttle obsessed, and have over the years bought, sold and ridden many ebikes for family, friends and marketplace patrons.
Which brings me to offering number one: Ebike Advice
If you’re interested in e-bikes but don’t know where to start, I can offer you an introduction to the basics, a chance to ride several varieties of ebike and some tips on how to ride them well, efficiently and safely.
I’ll also explain what to look for (and avoid) if buying a new or second hand bike, without the pressure or sales pitch of a bike shop (and this is not to denigrate bike shops or their sales people who are very knowledgeable).
I’m not affiliated with any ebike brands or bike retailers and am not trying to sell you anything except a little of my time and knowledge and the joy of riding.
These advice and test ride sessions are a 90 min hands on experience based on an hourly rate fee and I welcome individuals and couples.
Send me a message or call to find out more and book a session.
Offering 2 - Bike Tours and Adventures
In 2019 my family and I returned to Brisbane after 20 years living down the coast. I’d lived in Brisbane up until the age of 30 and thought I knew the place pretty well.
But getting an ebike has allowed me to really explore the city in an intimate and far reaching way, and being a curious person, has allowed me to discover some interesting and beautiful byways off the beaten track.
Over the years as I’ve taken friends, family and visitors on rides, everyone has said, ‘Jeff you should offer ebike tours - I’d never have found this place without you.’
So here we are: Ebike Tours
