Our U16s had an outstanding season with a Semi Final appearance in the One Day Competition, before going one better and claiming the Two Day Premiership.

A huge thank you to all the coaches who contributed throughout the season — Darcy Meyer, Dan Kerber, Tom Davidson, and super coach Paul Meyer, who has now led the side to an incredible five consecutive U16 premierships. All the other parents and senior players that helped out along the way, we thank you for your time and efforts.

Congratulations to the boys on getting the job done when it mattered most, producing two dominant performances with both bat and ball in the Semi Final and Grand Final.

The Gus Lawry Memorial Trophy is Brinkworth/Koolunga’s most prestigious award, recognising a volunteer who has truly gone above and beyond for the club.

This year’s recipient is Tom Davidson — a well-deserved winner. Tom has dedicated countless hours to running the Under 12s, while also lending a hand with the Under 16s. From organising the Friday night beers and BBQs to never missing a game, his commitment is second to none. More importantly, Tom creates a welcoming environment for all the kids and plays a huge role in helping them learn, improve, and enjoy their cricket.

A special mention also goes to his wonderful wife, Laura, who provides fantastic support behind the scenes and contributes greatly to Tom’s efforts.

Congratulations, Tom — and thank you both for everything you do for the club.

WHAT A WIN! Our 5th U16 premiership in as many years for our young Gold Caps. An unbelievable day with bat and ball! What a team effort 🟡

A massive thank you to everyone involved in our junior program this season. To the parents, volunteers, and helpers! Days like this don’t happen without your time, effort, and support. It truly takes a whole club, and we’re grateful for everything you do for the kids.

Huge congratulations to Dan Kerber on taking out the Stanley Cricket Association Shelly Nitschke Trophy (Player of the Season) and the Association Batting Trophy after a dominant home-and-away season. Dan piled on 537 runs in 10 innings at an outstanding average of 67.13, including eight scores of 50+ — leading the way in our top of the table finish. A remarkable and consistent season at the crease.

While celebrating Dan’s success, we also share that he has accepted a role in Darwin and has very recently moved north with his young family. Dan, Chloe and Maisie have been wonderful supporters of our club, and we are incredibly grateful for their passion for the Gold Caps. We wish them nothing but the very best — and they will always be welcome back at the club!

Over the past few years, Dan has been a major contributor to our A1 side through his batting, strong leadership and sharp cricket mind. At times stepping in with the gloves when needed and being a great mentor for emerging keeper Charlie Weckert. Popping up with key wickets, or pulling off run outs Ricky Ponting would be proud of, Dan has always put the team first. His help with the U16s as well as his work at Association level has been amazing and we thank him for his efforts.

Thank you, Dan, for your commitment and impact on our club. We hope one day you can return but for now, all the best 🟡

Although the Grand Final didn’t go our way, it doesn’t take away from what was a fantastic season. The boys put in the hard work week in, week out, and most importantly had a great time doing it.

Congratulations to all our 2025/26 trophy winners — well deserved recognition for your efforts throughout the year.

Plenty to be proud of, and plenty to build on. The Gold Caps will be back, hungrier than ever for the 2026/27 season as we continue to chase that ultimate prize.

Our U16s have pulled off a HUGE win to book their place in the U16 Two Day Competition Final! After battling through the competition with a very young side, the boys came from fourth spot to knock off the previously undefeated Blyth/Kybunga on their home deck in Blyth.

A brilliant team performance sets up a massive clash with Clare this weekend.

It’s fair to say it wasn’t our day. Absolutely out played by a team that just know how to get the job done when it matters. We unfortunately couldn’t handle the pressure on the day but we need to be proud of another great season.

A great bunch of lads that gave their everything all year. We will stick together and go again next season. 🟡

And here it is – our 2025/26 Grand Final team!

The boys take on Lower North White tomorrow at Clare Oval and it’s shaping up to be a cracker. We’d love to see as many Gold Caps in the crowd as possible to help get the team over the line.

Following the game, the A1 Presentations — and hopefully some celebrations — will be held at the Junction Hotel in Brinkworth. Pop in for a beer and help celebrate what has been a great season for the team, no matter the result.

The big one is here. A1 Grand Final week 🏏

After a huge season, the boys are ready to go as we take on Lower North White, who are coming in with good momentum after a strong win last weekend.

Captain Jack “Apples” Weckert has the side primed and ready for the challenge as we look to finish off what has been a fantastic year for the club.

We’d love to see as many supporters, sponsors, past players, family and friends there as possible to get behind the boys on the big stage.

Following the match, the A1 season presentations will take place at the Junction Hotel in Brinkworth. All players, past and present, supporters, family and sponsors are invited to come along and hopefully celebrate what has been a wonderful season for the A1s.

Let’s get around the boys for one last big push.
