Yesterday’s race from Bookaloo we had a big turnout of 11 owners which is good to see. John Luter continued his good form on from last week but going one better for the win and he advised with the same bird. In second we Grant Sheehan which proves the loft manager looks after his own birds better than Tom’s. Then in third was Troy Tirrell. Well done to all place getters and owners who flew as all had reasonable returns which is good for later races. Have a good week all and until next week good flying 👍

Well last weeks race from Paruna was won by Madigan Lofts (Trevor Madigan) in his first race for the year. Then in second was John Luter which is great to see with the amount of work he does around the club. Then third was ever consistent Michael Donnellan well done to all who raced. Believe most had good returns which is good to see. Good luck all in this weekends racing.

This weekend’s results from Stirling North was a bit of a harder fly with the birds having to deal with head winds. This week saw Troy Tirrell take the win beating Michael Donnellan who just beat Tom Tirrell by 4 seconds. Therefore I have been told Tom is going to be speaking with his loft manager to work on the speed of the birds arrival to cut out wasted time. I believe most had good returns again which is pleasing for continued good numbers for the remainder of the year.

Bit late but here are the results from the first race of the year which was from Warnertown. Winner was Mark Coates who is always consistent and Rob Keszler was second but would say his loft manager should take most of the credit, and rounding out the top 3 was Michael Donnellan who over the last couple of years has also been around the mark. Well done all flyers and may we have a year full of good racing.

Wishing all members, families and followers of the Glenelg Invitation racing pigeon club a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. May next year be even better than this one for us and we all breed a few winners. Stay safe over the break and when racing starts again will try to be better with the results in 2022.

A great night at the SAHPA presentation dinner where Michael Donnellan won the trophy for the first C**k bird home from Alice Springs LDC race which was 7th in the result and one of the clubs old Members John Paul Nicoli picked up his trophy for winning the great race from Alice Springs this year. A great night for the club last night as we celebrated a very successful 2021 season. We crowned our new Club Points Champion Andrew Scerri who had a very successful year. He narrowly beat Mark Coates who again had a very consistent season. No race was easy to win which was shown by nearly all members taking home a prize on the night. Some of the bigger winners were Madigan Lofts winning the last race, Michael Donnellan, John Crummey, Tom Sharron Tirrell, Mark Bruggemann, Andrew Scerri, Troy Tirrell and Mark Coates.

We need to thank a few people including Graham Goodrich again for hosting the night at his place and doing the work in the BBQ with Rob Keszler. Michael Donnellan for doing a lot of the organizing, Mark Bruggemann for presenting the awards and everyone who brought something for night.

As the club was very competitive again this season in the South Australian Racing Pigeon Federation this year we were privileged to win there champion club award. This was helped by the members winning 8 of the 12 Fed races during the Assoc Season. With many of these then resulting in many top 30 SAHPA placings.

One other notable personal achievements by one of our members was Micheal Donnellan gaining 7th from Alice Springs and won the award for it being the 1st c**k bird. There are probably other achievements by others during the year but think most members would think this is one of the better ones.

Now we are all busy breeding our next race teams for the 2022 season where again we will have another competitive year and lots of fun.

Having presentation for this evening for the 2020 season. Great work from Michael Donnellan winning the club points. Thanks to Graham Goodrich for hosting the night. Well done to all prize winners. Also well done to our Juniors Thomas and Henry who won points then Hugh Mahney and Sam Scerri who tied for second in the points.
