🏑 The Inaugural Michelle Parker Cup Begins 🏑
Today marked the opening round of the Michelle Parker Cup, a special series contested between St Bedes Hockey Club and Bayside Powerhouse Hockey Club.
The cup has been established in memory of our dear friend Michelle Parker, who sadly lost her battle with cancer earlier this year.
Michelle was an integral part of our hockey community, contributing in countless ways as a Treasurer, junior parent, team manager, women’s player, and friend. Her hockey journey began at St Bedes before later continuing with Bayside, making this annual contest a fitting tribute to her lasting connection with both clubs.
Throughout the season, every match played between St Bedes and Bayside Powerhouse will contribute towards the Michelle Parker Cup. Results from each round will be tallied, with the club recording the most wins across the series crowned the inaugural cup winner.
In addition, a Player of the Match will be awarded for each round, with five recipients to be recognised across the series before the cup is presented at season’s end.
More than just a competition, the Michelle Parker Cup is an opportunity to celebrate Michelle’s legacy, honour her contribution to our sport, and strengthen the bond between the two clubs she proudly represented.
We look forward to a series of great hockey, sportsmanship, and remembrance as we play for Michelle. 💙💚🏑
