The Brighton Baths has been the home of cold water swimming in Melbourne since its establishment in 1881, and is the base of the Brighton Icebergers, a diverse and passionate community of dedicated swimmers. The Brighton Baths Icebergers have the luxury of swimming inside the Baths or outside around the Marina or to various markers in the local bay area. We also have 50 meter lap lanes at the end of the Baths for days when you just feel like doing a few laps. Collectively, the Brighton Sea Baths Icebergers share a love for open water swimming and enjoy the numerous health benefits this practice brings. The Icebergers are a diverse group, without a constitution or rules; but are brought together by a common passion for having a regular swim, all year round, in all conditions.
