I know….. it can be SO HARD staying motivated to exercise during these cold, dark days of winter. Here’s a few tips which (usually) work for me - thought I’d share… have I missed any? Leave me yours in the comments below ⬇️
-
❄️Get organised the night before. If you plan to exercise first thing, get your clothes, breakfast, shoes, keys etc all ready to go the night before. The less thinking in the morning the better!
-
❄️ DON’T THINK, JUST GET UP!!! I have to use this one all the time! If I have even the slightest chance to think about how warm and cosy bed is and how cold it is outside I’ll never get up 😂 Just get going and you won’t regret it.
-
❄️ If winter means you spend more time indoors watching TV or reading, add some movement. Sit on the floor, use a release ball, lie on your roller, do some stretches etc
-
❄️ Move with a friend. Catch up with a friend for a walk, ride or class. Having to be accountable to someone else is a powerful motivator.
-
❄️ Invite in the adventure! Make the cold & dark part of the fun! Grab a head torch, rug up and pack a thermos of your favourite beverage and embrace the season! Even better with friends 😊
-
❄️ Come to Pilates!! It’s always warm, cosy & full of smiles at Pilates - it’s the perfect place to be when the winter blues hit.
