Team Chompa

Well it's been a while since we have posted, because Team Chompa has been pretty slack on the racing front.... but we paddled in the Frank Harrison Canoe Race in Albury on the Mighty Murray River last weekend.
A great race where there was a beautiful field of Canoes, with 2 men's teams, 5 mixed teams and 1 women's team.
Team Chompa took of with high hopes of placing in the top 3, but lack of training saw them run out of puff by the half way mark to come 4th in the mixed teams.
A big congratulations to Frank & Karen R for their 1st place, Brett & Anna for Second, then Rowan & Fiona for 3rd.
Well done to Mick & Karen S for the competition!!

Team Chompa finally got back on the water today, attending Footscray Canoe Clubs Salty race.
It was a beautiful day on the water, with plenty of single blade paddlers in attendance.
Chompa was the only TC2 on the water today, so we walked away with a first place medal.
Our next big race is at the end of Feb, at the Frank Harrison race in Albury.

I have been getting constant reminders from FB saying you people haven't heard from us for a while... so it's time for an update...

After successfully completing the Very Big Year through 2018 Team Chompa decided to take a step back from racing and let our bank accounts recover after 12 months of traveling and racing. We made a quick appearance back in January at the Kevin Phillips race in Yarrawonga, then another at the Great Toro Race but apart from that things have been quite.

Exciting news for those that live under a rock. Team Chompa will be at the Riverland Paddling Marathon in SA over the June long weekend. We are part of a team called "No Regrets" paddling a canoe that is one of it's kind in Australia, the R9. Made in Echuca, it is the first of hopefully many Rabaska canoes in the country. Very excited.

Look out for us at the Winter series race at Barwon Heads in a few weeks.

After a day off the water yesterday, team Chompa return and smash out day three of the MMP! Time for a hot shower, foam roller and a rost dinner cooked with love by NaN!

Pretty good paddling from team Chompa today. Great job to race organisers and landcrews (Especially ours). Unfortunatly, due to personal events, Chompa will not be on the water tomorrow but hopefully will catch up with everyone at Picnic Point for day 3.

Half of Team Chompa is doing some last minute training for the MMP
