Mystic Park- building community
Building and managing a trail system is only one part of developing a successful MTB destination. Arguably the most important part is building community. At Mystic Park we’ll be working closely with local stakeholders and community to help shape the future direction of the park. In the coming months we will be rolling out a range of developments that support social interaction and community building, including;
1. Social Hub: in late 2024 we plan to launch new social hub. STCA we will have seating, shelter, a cafe, and bar at our base hub, creating a comfortable, inviting space for people to congregate pre, during (save the beer for the end of the day!), and post their ride.
2. Adaptive and beginner friendly trails, and a lower mountain uplift: we will be rolling out adaptive friendly trails, an adaptive uplift, and a new beginner friendly uplift and trail planned for late ‘24. We will make Mystic Park more accessible, and more inclusive.
3. Summer Sessions and Phat Friday: in summer, we will launch evening uplifts and Phat Friday racing. After work/school uplifts are on!
4. Ambassador program: in the coming weeks we will launch our ambassador program. This program will provide free uplift annual passes and a range of other support to young, up and coming local riders and racers.
5. Easier access for families: we’ve removed the family pass, and instead offer kids under 16 free access to the park all year long. Despite the fact that kids Mountain Passes are free, they still get a further 10% off uplifts.
We’ll release more details of our plans (including our new trail development plans) over the coming weeks.
