Thirteen year old Taj Gillespie of Scottsdale is raising awareness for mental health in Dorset by hosting a fishing competition as part of his Year 8 Scotch Oakburn College Explore project. The school project encourages students to create meaningful projects that benefit others in the community.
Taj, an avid fisherman chose the online fishing competition to help raise awareness for mental health in the Dorset area.
Bridport Lions Club, Better Health for Dorset, Dorset Su***de Prevention Network and RAW - Rural Alive and Well are all supporting Taj in this meaningful endeavour.
Registration is free and people are encouraged to snap a pic of their catch and submit it through the Facebook event page or by contacting Julie Gillespie on 0400057565. See the poster for more details.
Taj wants to encourage people to get outdoors and enjoy fishing, connect with others and have good laughs!
