What a weekend. 💚 The 94th Bridgetown Easter Tournament is officially in the books and what an event it was. 🎾🏆 Over 290 players, beautiful grass and hard courts, non-stop matches from Good Friday through to Easter Monday. Easter in Bridgetown at its absolute best!
We are a small but mighty club of around 30 members and putting on a tournament of this scale takes a mammoth effort. We want to take a moment to acknowledge some of the incredible people who make it happen: to Rohan Chalmer, our Club President - a farmer who gives up an enormous amount of his time (and his wife does too!) to keep this club and this event going. 🙏 To Dom Stearne, our Tournament Director - who runs on very little sleep in the lead up and across the whole weekend, scheduling matches and running the box from start to finish. To Natalie Clynch in the kitchen - who keeps everyone's bellies full with homemade deliciousness all weekend long. 🥧 To Tim Clynch on the bar - who keeps the good times flowing. 🍺 To Anita Chalmer - who ensures not a single caffeine crisis goes unresolved. ☕ To Bec, our Groundskeeper - who puts in massive days to keep our courts looking absolutely beautiful. 🌿
And to every single member and volunteer we haven't named - none of this happens without you too and we are so grateful. 🙏🏻
To every player who travelled to be here - thank you for being part of this tradition.
94 years and it just keeps getting better. See you next Easter and it's going to be a BIG one! In 2027 the Bridgetown Lawn Tennis Club celebrates its 100th year and we cannot wait to mark that milestone in style. Watch this space! 💚🎾🏆🥧🥳
