Do what I do! Easy!
Martial Arts Mindset secrets - achieve beyond that which others can barely dream.
Practicing martial arts is a definite help, because you will develop the right mindset over time, but here is the fast track starter kit.
This isn't everything but it's a good start:
1. Chasing happiness, shortcuts and the easy way out will long term bring you unresolvable disadvantage. Work for a position, the position will bring you what you need and deserve.
2. Reframe short term pain and exhaustion as desensitisation and conditioning. Pain will always be your welcome ally.
3. If you can learn valuable lessons from failures and loss, then you are still moving forward. This is significantly more important that than any win too easily gained.
4. Courage is action in the face of genuine danger. Fear keeps you temporarily safe from the consequences of these dangerous environments but courage keeps you permanently safe from dangers you have not yet even conceived. Face your fears. Do not run from them.
5. Talent alone is a disadvantage. Natural ability is not naturally reproducible and not transmissible. Properly learned and well practiced skills have values on many levels that far exceed raw talent or brute force.
6. People who spend a lifetime learning a valuable skill or accumulating valuable knowledge and are then selflessly prepared to transmit that to the next generation, these people are worthy of your very best manners, attention and respects. You will never be able to afford to pay for this but don't worry, this type of person will be happy enough if you just pay it forward.
7. Know when to take a step back. Know when to reset. Know when to say enough is enough. You can't win at everything. You can't help everyone and you can't sacrifice all for a lost cause.
Perspective and context will see you through tough times and good.
8. All happiness is rooted in helping others.
Your own health and fitness is essential if you want to help others. First things first!
9. Both teaching and learning moments will sometimes not reveal themselves at the time.
Be reflective. Be self analysing. Be honest with yourself.
Good learning becomes great learning.
10. Learning to teach teaches you to learn. There is no better way to perfect your own skills. When you teach you learn twice.
11. Learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, learn to be disciplined & dogged when feeling tired, learn to be patient in the face of frustration. These things build resilience. Reliance will bring you rewards beyond your current comprehension.
12. Develop a great Work Ethic. It will see you through the tough times and accelerate the good times.
The job isn't done till everyone is done.
- If you break it, fix it
- Ask for help and give help to others selflessly.
- Always be the hardest working person in the room.
13. Don't cry over results you didn't get from work you didn't do, & when you see someone else achieve the successes they've earned, give them genuine encouragement, because they will be the ones that help you to your next successes.
