Spots are starting to fill up for the Annual Old Boys Camp!!

This year we’re heading to Lake Borumba Caravan & Campgrounds for a weekend of camping, fishing, swimming, footy and plenty of Hornets family fun.

📅 Friday 23 – Sunday 25 October

Old Boys Camp is a fantastic opportunity for players from across all age groups to come together, spend time with their Hornets family and make some great memories away from the footy field.
And this year, there are even more reasons to get involved! 🎣🏆

Our Fishing Competition will run across the weekend, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs thanks to Tackle World Lawnton, including:
🎣 Biggest Native Fish – Shimano Symetre Combo valued at $199
🎣 Mystery Length – Shimano Estuary Lure Pack valued at $199
🎣 Biggest Yabby – 4 x Wilson Opera House Pots + Crabbing Accessory Kit
🎣 Most Noxious Fish – Shimano Sienna valued at $139
🎣 Most Determined Angler – $50 Tackle World Voucher from Brian Morris (Awarded to the fisher who gives it their absolute best all weekend but doesn’t manage to reel one in!)

There’ll also be additional prizes up for grabs, including:

🎁 2 x $50 Tackle World Vouchers. from Paul Gay will also be up for grabs through our Old Boys Pick!

The cost covers camping fees and meals from Friday night through to Sunday morning, including our Pig on the Spit on Saturday night! 🐷🔥

One of our Hornets players, Zyeon, has recently started his own TikTok account - mindset.locked, focused on mindset, conversations and encouraging young people to speak up.

Zyeon caught up with some of his Hornets teammates and asked them a simple but important question:

“What do you do when you need help?”

Whether it’s talking to your parents, your mates, your coach or someone you trust, there’s strength in reaching out - and there’s strength in checking in on someone else too.

At the Hornets, we’re proud to see our young players starting conversations like these and looking out for their teammates both on and off the field. ❤️💙🤍

Today is a reminder to ask R U OK?, but that conversation shouldn’t be limited to one day. If someone’s on your mind, check in. Listen. Give them your time. And encourage them to seek extra support when they need it.

🏉 THAT’S A WRAP ON SEASON 2026!

And what a way to finish it!

A huge congratulations to our U15 Girls Community team, who produced an incredible 28–8 Grand Final victory over Wynnum to be crowned 2026 PREMIERS! 🏆

The girls have had an outstanding season and today they got the reward for all their hard work. They become the second Hornets team to bring home a Premiership trophy this season, an amazing achievement for the team, coaches, managers and everyone who has supported them along the way. ❤️

Our three other teams were also in action today in their Semi Finals:
🔹 U16 Div 2 – Pine Central 12 def. by Waterford 30
🔹 U15 Div 3 – Pine Central 24 def. by Wests Brisbane 30
🔹 U17 Div 2 – Pine Central 10 def. by Wynnum 40

While their seasons came to an end today, making it through to the Semi Finals is something each team should be incredibly proud of. Congratulations to all of the players, coaches, managers, volunteers and families who have been part of their 2026 journey.

With today’s games now complete, all Hornets fixtures for the 2026 season have officially come to an end.

What a season it has been, plenty of highs, plenty of memories, and two Premiership trophies coming home to the Hornets! 🏆🏆

Thank you to every player, coach, manager, volunteer, supporter and sponsor who helped make season 2026 such a memorable one.

❤️💙🤍 Happy Father’s Day to all our Hornets Dads! 🤍💙❤️
We asked a bunch of our players what they’re doing for Dad this Father’s Day and, more importantly, what they love most about him… and we got some pretty great answers! 😂🥰

We’re incredibly grateful for all the dads who are part of our Hornets family, whether you’re pulling on the boots, coaching a team, managing behind the scenes, volunteering around the club or proudly cheering from the sidelines every weekend.

Thank you for everything you do for our players, our teams and our club. 🏉❤️💙🤍

Our U15 Comms girls are heading into the Grand Final this weekend, taking on Wynnum Juniors! 🙌

What a season it has been for this group. Coach Scott Cross has done an amazing job with the girls and should be incredibly proud of just how far this team has come. Their growth, determination and team spirit throughout the season has been fantastic to watch.

Tonight, our Hornets Old Boys and Committee put on a BBQ for the team, giving the girls a chance to come together, enjoy the night and soak up the excitement before the big one this weekend. ❤️💙

While we were there, we also decided to get to know the girls a little better — from describing their team in three words to sharing a few laughs about their coach and teammates! 😂🎤
