Another one! 🥉 Proud to Receive 3rd Place at the SAPIA Annual Awards
DSFA is honoured to have been awarded 3rd Place in the Commercial Sports Courts Acrylic >10,000m² category at the SAPIA Annual Awards for our work on the Beaton Park Construction Project at the Wollongong Tennis Complex.
Thank you to SAPIA for recognising the Beaton Park redevelopment and its lasting impact on tennis and pickleball participation in the Wollongong region.
We are also incredibly grateful to Wollongong City Council for entrusting DSFA to deliver this landmark sporting infrastructure project. Together, we transformed an ageing tennis facility into a modern, world-class tennis and pickleball complex.
This complete demolition and rebuild, delivered by DSFA in partnership with Select Civil, included:
✅ 15 brand-new courts:
• 11 cushioned acrylic tennis courts
• 4 texturised synthetic grass courts
✅ Full civil and concrete works
✅ Approx. 1.5km of black Chainwire fencing
✅ Around 30,000 litres of surfacing materials
✅ Approx. 1,900m³ of concrete
The project involved coordinating multiple playing surfaces, maintaining strict quality control and delivering a large-scale facility within a live community precinct, while meeting professional tennis standards.
The result:
✔ Tournament-ready courts and infrastructure
✔ Safer, higher-performing playing surfaces
✔ Increased tennis and pickleball capacity
✔ A modern sporting destination for Wollongong
✔ A venue for major events, competitions and development programs
Most importantly, this award belongs to our incredible DSFA team. Your commitment, expertise and attention to detail made this project possible. The finished facility reflects the pride you bring to every project and showcases DSFA’s capability to deliver large-scale, high-performance sporting precincts.
