That mix catches a lot of families off guard. A trial week is the easiest way to see the whole picture for yourself, not just the performing arts side.

Benedicte Bemet; Principal Artist, The Australian Ballet

Benedicte will join our faculty at The Whiteley College & A&L Académie de Danse for two days of exceptional training in January 2027.

You do not need to be a current student to attend.

A few people have asked how a trial week actually works, so here’s the rundown:

First, get in touch and tell us a bit about your child — their age, year level, and what’s drawn you to TWC. We’ll have a real conversation from there, not a sales pitch, to work out together whether a trial week makes sense. Once it does, we set a date within the normal school week. Your child then joins in properly — full days, at their class level, following the full academic timetable, plus performing arts training in whichever stream suits them: Dance, or Drama & Musical Theatre. At the end of the week, we sit down and talk honestly about how it felt, for them and for you.

Trial weeks booked before 31 October save $100.

A trial week at The Whiteley College is a real week — your child joins their class level and follows the actual timetable, exactly as our students live it. That means the full academic timetable, plus performing arts training in whichever stream suits them: Dance, or Drama & Musical Theatre.

Among the performers on stage at Gala de Lumière last weekend are alumni who are currently working with professional companies in Europe.

They trained here. They graduated from here. And this weekend they were back on the same stage as the students who are still at the beginning or middle of that journey.

That was such a celebration and demonstration of what the College produces — and what’s possible for the students watching from the wings right now.

Did you come along to Gala de Lumière on the weekend or follow along in our stories?

Every performer on stage trained at The Whiteley College or A&L Académie de Danse — or both.

A&L is the part-time studio with classes available from ages two through to adults. The same teachers, the same standard, the same philosophy, without the full-time college commitment.

If you found yourself thinking about what’s possible for your own child — or for yourself — A&L is the place to start. No prior experience required for most classes, and the door is genuinely open.
