We couldn’t wrap up our volunteer recognition posts without one more bonus shoutout to Bob Flood from the Darling Downs Soaring Club.

Bob is one of those people every club relies on - the volunteer who is always there, always helping and somehow already halfway through the job before anyone else even realises it needs doing.

If the rain’s fallen and the grass starts growing, chances are Bob is out a day early mowing before anyone’s even thought about it. And when he’s not mowing? He’s probably fixing something, renovating something, instructing, running Friday flying, serving on the committee, organising competitions as Contest Director or helping keep the club running behind the scenes.

Bathroom renovations? Bob’s there. Grounds maintenance? Bob’s there. General fix-it jobs? Bob’s already brought the tools.

Volunteers like Bob are the backbone of clubs like DDSC. His dedication, reliability and willingness to quietly get things done make an enormous difference to the whole gliding community.

Thank you Bob for everything you do!
