Tigers Roar into Grand Final

Kalgoorlie shock Mines in 1st Semi Final

Tigers await the winner of Railways v Kalgoorlie in the Preliminary Final

Boulder remained calm in a crisis, staring down a third-quarter deficit as the springboard for a dominant second half while holding off Railways on Saturday by 28 points, 13.8 (86) to 8.10 (58), in the Goldfields Football League’s second semifinal.

After losses in four previous head-to-head clashes against the minor premiers, Railways showed up ready to play, and it was only their inaccuracy that saw them trailing by two points at half-time — despite three more scoring shots.

🐯 VALE BILL BALDWIN

A gentleman. A sportsman. A businessman. A community man. And a Tiger.

The Boulder Tigers acknowledge with great sadness the passing of Bill Baldwin, a man whose contribution to sport and the wider Goldfields community reached far beyond the football field.

Bill was a talented footballer during the early 1960s and proudly represented Boulder during an era when the Tigers came agonisingly close to breaking a long premiership drought.

He was a member of the Boulder sides that contested the 1963 and 1964 League Grand Finals — part of a generation of Tigers who kept challenging, kept believing and proudly carried the black and gold.

But football was only one chapter in Bill Baldwin’s remarkable sporting life.

His enormous contribution to Goldfields hockey would span many years and eventually take him to the highest levels of Masters competition. The photograph of Bill proudly holding the trophy and wearing his medal says plenty about the sportsman — and competitor — he remained.

His contribution extended further still.

Bill gave generously of his time to the YMCA Y’s Men’s Club and YMCA Board, was involved with CBC Basketball, and became a successful and respected businessman.

Yet perhaps the simplest description is also the most fitting.

Bill Baldwin was a gentleman.

One of those people whose contribution cannot be measured simply by games played, trophies won or positions held.

It is measured in the sporting organisations made stronger, the community served and the people encountered along the way.

Today we remember another member of the Tiger family and another wonderful contributor to the sporting history of the Goldfields.

To Bill’s family, friends and all those who shared his journey, we extend our sincere condolences.

Thank you, Bill.

For the football.
For the sport.
For the community.
And for a life very well lived.

League Team move into the Big One - Pressed by the Panthers all day they showed it when it mattered most. The 28 point victory was on the back of some upfront play by Jake George 4 goals, Koopah Todd 3 goals along with Thomas Couglan 2. The opportunity has been created to truly celebrate 130 Years of the Boulder Football Club.

Reserves The dream is alive - it’s time to contemplate a 4-peat. 5 from the jet Lucci Johns gives Brenton and his team the opportunity!

Colts will have to front up in next weeks Preliminary Final to earn one last chance at matching Kalgoorlie. Roos now have a 5-0 strike rate against Boulder Colts.
