Thank you Adam! “An exceptional holiday, friendly staff. This place is an absolute must if you are touring Tassie. It is an Aussie gem, a quirky genuine farmstay experience. The new Manager and staff are wonderful, the food is great, the self-service honesty bar is from the old days. The homestead is an historic building, and dinner can come with a local historian who gives life to the history of the place. We were a group of 7 golfers, and we played the best courses Tassie has to offer. We rated Ratho as a must-do on any golfer's itinerary. Playing off the tee over 200 sheep is unique, and focusses the attention. Where else can you do that?” Adam AU, (March 2026)

Thank you Brian! “After a bit of digging online, I came across this 'gem' of a place/stay, that also happens to be the first golf course to be constructed in Australia (amazing). My self contained unit was spacious, super comfy bedding, easy parking, and quite a challenging course (bring a few extra balls) I highly recommend the 'family dinner' hosted by Richard and Roz (caretakers of the farm). 16 year old Baxter Armstrong shot a blistering 1-under par 69 (-1) to finish leading qualifier by 6 shots in today’s qualifying round of the Tasmanian Junior Super 6 at Ratho Farm Golf Links .

In cool conditions, Armstrong’s round featured 5 birdies, including four of the five par 5 holes at Ratho Farm .

“My success was pretty simple today – I made the most of the par fives”, said Armstrong.

“I hit three of the par fives in two (shots), and played them in four under” said Armstrong, who earned a bye to progress straight through to the second round of the 6 hole Super 6 matches tomorrow.

Armstrong will still have to earn his way to lifting the unique sheep shears trophy tomorrow, having lost in a semi-final match in his previous showing at this event in 2024 when he was also the leading qualifier.

“My matchplay record is pretty solid, and my game is on the up usually shooting around par at Royal (Hobart Golf Club)”, said Armstrong.

Jack Rice’s round of 75 (+5) has the second qualifier play 15th seed Amelia Toogood, with Aidan Power and Cooper Bassett rounding out the top 4 qualifiers. Two-time defending Super 6 champion Phoenix Munoz qualified 6th and will have work to do for the 3 peat.

9 year-old Skye Munoz fought illness to win the 9-Hole Development Event for the second year running.

Play gets underway at 9am today, and the Super 6 final is scheduled to start at 2pm this afternoon.

Whisky Week is coming to Clyde Mill, and we're kicking it off with something special.

Join us for an evening with Lark AM, the man widely credited with sparking the modern Australian whisky industry. It all started with a dram shared with his father-in-law on a fishing trip, talk of Tasmania's fine barley, clean water, and a peak in the Central Highlands he couldn't stop thinking about. That question, why isn't anyone making whisky here, changed everything.

This Whisky Week, Bill joins us right in the highlands he first had in mind, to tell that story himself.
