One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to minimise their bust is wearing high-compression sports bras every single day to squash everything down.

Now don’t get us wrong, compression absolutely works for some people. But for others, it can create that flattened “mono-boob” look where your bust becomes one large focal point across the chest. ⛰️
Sometimes the trick to looking smaller… is actually shape, separation and forward projection 👏

Instead of compressing the bust outward and wide, a bra like the Panache Envy helps bring the bust forward into two smaller focal points at the front of the body.

✨ Forward projection can make the bust appear narrower from the front
✨ Separation helps avoid the mono-boob effect
✨ Structured cups create lift and shape instead of flattening
✨ Side support helps pull tissue inward rather than outward under the arms
✨ A more projected shape can actually make clothing sit better over the bust

😮 A lot of people are surprised that a bra with “more shape” can actually make them LOOK smaller in clothes!

Because minimising isn’t always about compression… sometimes it’s about proportions and silhouette.
If you’ve been hiding in sports bras every day, it might be worth exploring styles designed to support and shape your bust instead 💛

Shop online or book a fitting with our team to find the style that works best for your shape and how you want your bust to look under clothing.

There’s at least one in every workplace and over time you learn to understand them 🤭

It really doesn’t have to be such a complicated journey to finding a great bra. 😭

You wear a bra every single day. You only really need 3–4 good everyday bras in rotation and they’re literally designed to support you and make you feel comfortable.

But instead, so many women end up:
• doom scrolling reviews
• trying random bras online
• squeezing back into old favourites
• removing underwires out of desperation 💀

When often the real issue is simply being in the wrong size or the wrong style for your shape.

The right bra can genuinely change how your clothes fit, how supported you feel and how comfortable your day is.

So if your current bras are causing drama… maybe it’s time for a proper fitting. 🤍

We’re available 7 days a week by appointment in Hawthorn and you can follow along for more entertaining bra tips!

If you’re a country music fan then you’ll have a great time during your bra fitting 😂 🤠

But also if you don’t like it just mention it to literally any other team member and they’ll sort you out 🎶

Every body is different and asymmetry is incredibly common, so the goal isn’t “perfectly even” b***s… it’s finding a fit that feels comfortable, supportive and works with your shape 🤍

You’ll notice in the first bra, Asha is wearing a smaller cup size and on her larger side the seams are cutting into her breast tissue. This creates spillage, unevenness and can become even more obvious underneath clothing.

A lot of people think they need to size down for more support, but support actually comes from the band size, not from squeezing yourself into a smaller cup.
By fitting the larger breast properly and wearing the larger cup size, you create a much smoother and more balanced finish under clothing ✨

This is why we often recommend:
• Full cup styles
• Softer cups rather than rigid moulded cups
• Stretch lace or flexible top cups that can adapt to your shape

Bras like the Fantasie Fusion, Panache Envy, Panache Ana, Elomi Morgan and Elomi Matilda are all great examples of styles that can work beautifully for asymmetry depending on your shape and fit needs.
The best bra for asymmetry is the one that works with your body, not against it 🤍

We’re available 7 days a week by appointment in Hawthorn and you can also shop online with detailed fit notes to help guide you.

Did you like our singing? 🎤😂
Aimee describes her frustration as “saggy b***s” and she also struggled with:

• empty space or gaping at the top
• bras flattening her shape instead of lifting it
• feeling like her b***s sat too low in clothes
And honestly? This is SUCH a common fit issue for people with softer tissue or fuller-bottom breasts.
The solution wasn’t necessarily a “bigger” bra or more coverage… it was better STRUCTURE 👏
Tish fitted Aimee into the Panache Envy Full Cup Bra because the construction of this bra is specifically designed to support bottom-heavy breast tissue.

✨ The side support seams help bring tissue forward instead of outward
✨ The balconette shape creates a more uplifted, rounded silhouette
✨ The laminated and rigid cup structure helps reduce collapsing and gaping at the top
✨ Great for softer tissue, loss of upper fullness and “pointing south” b***s
Instead of just covering the bust, this bra actually redistributes tissue and creates shape through the cup construction itself.
This is why two bras in the same size can fit COMPLETELY differently depending on the structure and shape of the bra.
Other bras we recommend for this:
• Fantasie Magdalena Side Support Bra
• Panache Allure Full Cup Bra
• Elomi Morgan Bra
• Fantasie Reflect Side Support Bra
If your bras are gaping, flattening or making your bust feel heavier and lower throughout the day, it might be time to stop focusing purely on size and start looking at shape-specific support instead.

⚠️One of the biggest misconceptions in sports bras is that underwire automatically means “more support”.
In reality, the main difference between wired and wire free sports bras is often the shape, structure and overall fit experience on the body.

A wired sports bra can create a more lifted, separated shape, while wire free styles are often preferred by people who like a more compressed or encapsulated feel.

Neither option is universally better. 🤷🏼‍♀️The right choice comes down to your breast shape, tissue density, comfort preferences and the type of support you personally feel most secure in.

Bras pictured in this video include:
• Panache Endurance Sports Bra (wired)
• Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra (wire free)

At She Science, we stock a variety of sports bra brands in a wide range of sizes so you can find exactly the right bra for you 💪✨
