CHMPIONSHIP SINGLES
5 Ladies played in the Championship Singles on Sunday in very trying weather. The wind was hard to work out even with the Rolling of the Jack.
Even though the games were very well contested with close games right through.
The final was played between Wendy Twigden and Belinda Pepper.
Belinda proved to be more consistent and was the winner.
Congratulations Belinda.

The Championship Fours were played last Wednesday 19th November. The weather looked a bit dicey to start off with but ended up being quite pleasant. Good competitive game by all players.

On Saturday 4th October was President's day at the club. Had a good turn up of players attend playing Fours & Triples and 2 games of 10 ends. The weather was a perfect day.
Everyone bought a plate of afternoon tea.
Runner Ups were Craig Sutton, Damien Grosser and Brett Smedley.

On Sunday 28th Sept our President Craig Sutton welcomed players from Kingston SE to our club for our Annual GET together to start off the season of bowls.
The players were mixed up to make 10 teams of Fours and 4 teams of Triples. .
A great day of bowls and friendship was had .
Bowlers enjoyed a Turkey Schnitzel & Salad lunch with Peaches & Icecream for dessert.
At the end of the day all players also enjoyed
an afternoon tea.

Roger Fullerton, Phil McLeod, Denise & Terry Kerr.

On Tueday 8th April the club had their 5 a side tournament.
12 teams played 3 games in perfect weather with lots of fun and friendship.
Thanks to the ladies in the kitchen who organised a lovely lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
Thanks to Heather Warncken for the donations of most of the prizes.
Also thanks to Jodi from Caddieshack and Leanne from Nutrimentics.

Bordertown Championship Singles were played today in perfect weather. First games Belinda Pepper played Jenny Marshall and Julie Wiese played Wendy Twigden. These were great games to watch. Belinda won the game with her consistency bowling. Julie won her game which was a very close game and good bowling by both players .
Final game was another game of good bowling with Julie getting a good start and lead by 7 after the 10th end. Belinda starting getting her weight & grass going and pegged her back and got in front and stayed there to win the game. 25 - 19.

The Ladies played their Championship Pairs last Wednesday. Three teams played off in a Round Robin format. Each team won 1 game each so had to go back to a count back. Julie Wiese & Cathy Sutton were the winners from Wendy Twigden & Pam Steer. With Belinda Pepper & Heather Warncken last. It was an interesting day with some good bowls from all players.
