Unfortunately we only had 4 hardy golfers today so we postponed Bev Crowes Memorial Ambrose and played a club trophy stableford instead. Di Sykes' good form continued and she won the day. We decided to also play match play to practise before SW pennants next month. 2 very close matches were played to the end and Felicity Corcoran and Di Sykes won their matches. We all agreed it was fun to challenge ourselves with a different format. Bevs trophy now scheduled for 2nd October so hopefully more players are available then.

Morning all, today’s event is the 9 hole Keno 2 person Ambrose qualifier. This event is open to all players and teams may consist of Men. Women or Mixed. Morning tee off will be at 10am with the club opening at 9:30…many thx to Sharon for this. Not sure if there are a set amount of tee offs from each player needed, so at this point…it’s just play ur best. Fees are $25/team as it’s only 9 holes. To be eligible, all cards must be signed by a marker and player from each team and as I’m aware that some people may not be able to make the morning start…there are players teeing off at 12:30 as well. Good golfing and hope to see heaps out there.

Pete and Di Sykes Sponsor Day

17 golfers braved the cold and windy conditions on Sunday to take part in Pete and Di Sykes Sponsored Stableford Trophy. Some excellent additions of some schnapps and brown muscat at a few of the tee boxes to warm the body, NTP and Long Drives, and even a 'secret 9 holes' handicap prize too.

Brendan McGrath (BMB Building) Sponsor Day

Last Sunday BMB Building sponsored a 2 Person Ambrose at the Boorowa Golf Course. 22 players turned up for a great arvo of golf.

Bronte Johnston Sponsor Day

The Boorowa Golf Club would like to thank Bronte Johnston for sponsoring Sunday's Stroke Event. Great fun with Nearest The Pins, Long Drive and even trivia as the golfers got to different tee boxes. 19 golfers braved the cold conditions.

Boorowa Golf Club - South West Small Club Pennants Champions

Last weekend, Bigga Golf Club held the Final of the 2026 South West Small Clubs Pennants Championships.
Boorowa had reached the Match Play Final after good results at the rounds in Boorowa, Binalong and Clover Leigh. They also held the lead in the Stableford Overall.

In the Match Play, Boorowa had their work cut out for them against Binalong, who have plenty of experience on sand greens. Some great golf was played and the results are as follows:

Match Play Results:
Boorowa 4.5 to Binalong 0.5
Wins to Jason Stuart (3up), Chris Grimson (1up), Roger Mason (3up) and Graham Traynor (5up) with Graham Jones finishing all square in the fourth leg.

A great result for Boorowa in the Match Play to come out as Champions for 2026.

In the Stableford, Boorowa also took home the trophy by a small margin over Binalong, Bigga and Clover Leigh.

Fantastic results for the Boorowa Club, and great to see that throughout the Pennants Season, Boorowa had over 30 members play at least one of the rounds.

Well done to all, and thanks to Bigga, Binalong and Clover Leigh Golf Clubs for another great year of golf, hospitality and good fun throughout the Pennants Season.

Elliott Fisher Trophy (stroke)

A big thankyou to Elliott Fisher for sponsoring Sunday's Event. A cold and wet day, the course held up well and is playing very slow. It's rare that a ball will hit a green and stick in Boorowa from 100m way, and that happened a number of times. Tricky conditions, and this was reflected in the scoring.

Winner - Graham Traynor 64 Net
Runner-Up - Mumbo 65 Net
Third - Brendan McGrath & Graham Jones 66 Net

Next Sunday is the Monthly Medal (stroke) and also the Bronte Johnston sponsor day. Let's hope for a bit of sunshine this week to give the course a chance to dry out. Usual 12pm for 12:30pm tee.
