Bring back some memories went for a drive back to the LV and dropped in at the library. I forgot the LV express used to occasionally make it over to Boolarra Footballer games, found a few photos here is the one that stuck out straight away. Deano smacking one through point.

All right you feels like no one is interacting, so I have all the footballers score books. I am tipping there are a bunch of players but more importantly offspring of Dads that are no longer with us. Hit me with requests and I will post some of the games they played in and hopefully some highlights.

Hi Footballers
Been a while thought I could fix the issues but looks like I cannot. Given all the information and chats since we opened up this page may as well just persist and hopefully can block people not part of the Footballers family.
Further to the photo provided by Cec I have managed to find the original newspaper report on the Boolarra Centenary game in 1984. It was reported in the Latrobe Valley Express. Photos attached, see why the historical society cropped it, was to remove Kevin Morrissy.
Anyway full article attached.

Hi Footballers
I know I have not posted forever the page was overrun by people that have nothing to do with Boolarra Footballers Cricket Club. I tried everything to get rid of them but it was like trying to stop the ocean.

Hopefully I have sorted it out as we have so many legitimate people that joined the page.

Anyway, Robert Taylor Cec has found a photo of the centenary game of 1984 great bunch of blokes in the photo and a great club of top shelf people. Please like if you can see this post so I know I have got the settings right.Dean ReynoldsJohn Crowley Robert Taylor Phil Grave Kevin MorrissyNev GilpinCraig DudekBrendan Dudek

Hi Footballers
Went to the Gippsland yesterday with John Crowley on the way we thought we drop past to have a look at the Boolarra Cricket Ground where all the fun was had.
We were both pleasantly surprised to see an honour board plaque for Doggy Caldwell what a champion bloke he was, he favourite saying when he was batting was, if it feels good run, because he could not see a thing.
For the record we swung past the Boolarra Cemetery there was some familiar names including Doggy’s grave, Kevin Deery and Cec Taylor, small world don’t know how many we missed.
Does anyone know where the Footballers Honour Board is located and if so can we get some photos posted if possible.
Go Ballers.

G'day Ballers happy queens holiday, apologies if I mess this up trying to send the stats in some sort of order, but the Burl has not been great with the order. I can get away with posting anything about Kevin Morrissy as he does not do FB and none of you will relay this post to him (hehee) anyway here are some more stats. Season 80/81 Steve Reid, Richie Robbins and Bob Scott there are some serious athletes in their day, Paddy Byrne I had no idea he played for the Footballers, we played footy together at Churchill as well as Steve Reid, Norm Backman.
Then we get into some serious drinkers Greg Camel McCulloch, Normie Giddens and the list goes on.
Enjoy

Check this newspaper article out on the Footballers.
Terrific thank you Cec Taylor for providing it, absolute gold.

I have been a called a lot of names over the journey most will not be posted on our page but “Rex” wtf.

On a sad note I was not aware until Deano told me that Ian “Skinny” Kennedy died. I absolutely loved Skinning we opened the batting for years and spent a lot of time out in the middle.
The one thing I remember was his running between the wickets. He had the same philosophy as Doggy Rowlands if it feels good I am running.
It got to the point where if it sounded good he was running irrespective of whether it went straight to a fielder or not.

Keep them coming team and the comments it great to see the chat from old team mates and in some cases their children who were very young or not even born when we were playing.

Here we go Footballers the B Grade statistics, some ripping blokes in this line up Turtle Sneaky and Doggy, enjoy.
