As much as I love the country I was born in and had an amazing childhood there, watching what’s happening in Ukraine at the moment crushes my heart into million pieces.
It’s impossible to even believe that in 2022 war is still an option.
Our grandparents had to fight together in WWII for us to be able to live in peace and now, 77 years later, Russian government suddenly turns to such violence.
⠀
They destroy cities, kill hundreds of innocent people, children..
They sent those young soldiers over there, stating it’s ‘for the training purposes’, into the complete unknown.
⠀
There is a lot of misleading information circulating in Russia as people are cut off from any truthful sources of information about the current situation, which causes the civil war between nationalities and, moreover, friends and relatives even.
There’s absolutely no freedom of speech over in Russia, people are literally getting thrown in jail if they go out to protest for ‘peace’ or if they express the opinion, which is different from what they’re trying to brainwash the population to believe in
⠀
There’s not a single Russian I personally know, who supports what this mad man is doing, it is a scary time, when you start feeling ashamed of your descent and it shouldn’t be like that.
⠀
My heart goes out to all the innocent people caught in a cross fire. To everyone, who has to live in fear and uncertainty now.
To everyone, who lost their loved ones.
I stand with you and pray they reach the agreement in the next round of peace talks 💙💛
