Wow who’s that guy?? 🫣
That first slide is me almost 10 years ago now, in hospital sick AF after drinking water that had a nasty bacteria in it. I lost 17kgs over the course of about 4 weeks 😰
For reference, the second photo is what I looked like exactly 8 weeks earlier…
It took me almost a full 12 months to get back my strength and fitness, I cleaned up my diet and had to take my training back to level 1 but I got there in the end and haven’t stopped. I’ve been training for over 25 years and I don’t plan on stopping 😊
I guess the reason I’m talking about this is because (sorry about the cliche) you have to experience lows in order to appreciate the highs. We can’t experience joy without experiencing sorrow because the reason we feel sorrow for something is because we once felt joy for it and vice versa. .
So! Whether you’re up or down, it’s important to remember it’s all coming from the same cup. Keep your head up and appreciate each beautiful day you have on this earth 😊

My training schedule atm is:
-5-6 days per week. Four days of heavy lifting and the other two are conditioning.
-Eating 3.5-4K calories a day
-Sleeping 7-8 hours a night
-Weighing 96kg
-Feeling pretty good, and not taking myself too seriously! 💁🏼‍♂️

All jokes aside, wearing clean un**es is something that many homeless people across our country don’t enjoy, so every pair you buy from Academy, will donate a pair to a homeless person in need.
As if Xmas wasn’t excuse enough to stock up on socks n un**es, now you can feel good about making a positive impact as well! Win win 🫶🏼

Check in and friendly reminder 😊🙌🏼:

I’ve been working my butt off in the gym for the past 8 months and I’m weighing in about 97kg. I’ve got no idea what my bf % is, nor do I care.
I also took a week COMPLETELY off from work and training to give my body (and my head) time to rest entirely.
I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time (if ever) I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for a full week.
My body was thirsty for it and I felt amazing on the other side.
It’s so hard to schedule in rest when everything is going well, but it’s also so important. I had forgotten myself just how important it is, so here’s a little reminder/PSA to schedule it in to your diary!
(Also I had no other content so had to take another shirtless gym selfie 😬😂)

Meditation. Recovery. Breath work. Mindfulness. Therapy. 🧘‍♂️
All words that were familiar yet somehow very foreign to me until fairly recently.
We’ve all been through some sort of trauma whether it’s emotional or physical or both - hell, even exercising puts your body through a type of trauma that we then rebuild through recovery, to be fitter, stronger, healthier.
I’m so familiar with this concept yet had never applied it to my emotional or mental health.
I’m only now realising the importance of ‘recovery’ outside of a training environment and I’ve never been happier 😊
