Hi everyone
last weekend was our second last comp for this year and some serious planning has been taking place to chase the championship points.

A big range of fish hit the scales which included trout, blackfish, salmon, tailor, snapper, bream, flathead and bonito.

Todd made a triumphant return to the local fishing scene with a nice bag of fish, including mulloway, snapper and bream
Looks like Thanh is doing his best to defend his champion of champions crown but there are some anglers nipping at his heels.

Winner for this comp was Thanh, runner up was Todd.
Ladies was Jenny.
Mystery weight was Glenn and mystery fisho was Tony.

Glen caught the best Luderick, Todd mulloway, snapper and bream, Jody -salmon, tailor- tony.

No rock blackfish were weighed in.

Also happy 23rd birthday for Jai.

We only have one comp to go so check out the species board and set yourself a few goals between now and the last comp which is 13-14june with kingfish as the fish of the month.

I missed the last comp but still caught a few nice fish in NT, checkout the sunset

Hi everyone
Last weekend was our 10th comp for the season and a great variety of quality species were weighed in.
This included bream, trevally, whiting, salmon, blackfish and flathead.
Sadly no one caught a mullet which was fish of the month.
Seb Le has been showing the rest of use how to catch good fish with a great salmon to hit the scales.
He won the sub junior section.
Blake Harford also got a good bag of fish to win the junior section.
Biggest bream was Weigh master Glen and Marlene won the women’s section.

This comp was a battle between the Muller brothers with Barry having the greater points over Phil.

Next comp is 23/24th may with Rock Blackfish being fish of the month.

The AGM and Presentation will soon be upon us and the committee will let people know.

Thanks
Doug,
I’ve also added a photo of a pretty healthy Tassie trout when I was there a few weeks ago, a rather large tiger snake and very toothie tassie devil

Hi everyone
Comp 9 was our beach only comp and a few nice fish were weighed in.
There was a good variety of species with flathead, bream, mullet and whiting dominating.

During the month a few fishos targeted the mulloway with Thahn getting the best.

Winner for the comp was Thahn, runner up Phill
Junior winner was Caiden and sub junior was Seb.
Phil had the biggest bream and Matt had the mystery weight.
Blake was the mystery fisho.

Lisa and Todd are over on Lord Howe and having a great time.
I’ve attached some photos.

I’m in Tassie at the moment and aiming to do some fishing for Atlantic Salmon in Strahan and then have a go for some trout later in the month.
It’s been snowing!!!

Next comp is a general comp on May 2-3 and fish of the onto is Mullet.

Hi everyone

Our next comp is April 11th and 12th with this comp being beach only. The fish of the month is mulloway.

Our presentation night will soon be here (4th July) and Steve and Ronnie are looking at some options.
They will let people know at next weekends weigh-in and we will collect numbers at the weigh in.

At our last committee meeting a few important issues were raised which we would like our members to know about.

There is a draft 2026 - 2036 Booderee management plan with some significant changes proposed.
They are looking at restrictions in the area from Creswell break wall to the north west corner of Bowen island. This area is prime squiding and live bait catching area especially in a southerly. Also it looks like there are going to be increased restrictions to rock fishing. ( I’ve attached a map)
Have a look at the Booderee website and you can follow the link to fill out the survey.
Have your say!

There was a press release last month about the $170,000 fine that Manildra was given by EPA due the silo collapse in 2024.
They have been ordered to develop a local community consultation committee to look at how this money can be used for improvements around the immediate area.
One of the things we have been trying to do is get funding for all the silt in Bomaderry creek to be removed to make it easier to access the river from Bomo ramp.
If you have other ideas please let us know.

Todd and Lisa are heading over to lord Howe island.
We’ll have a chat with them when they get back to get their ideas about a club holiday to lord Howe (like we did 10 years ago) photos attached

Thanks
