Do you feel the same? This year flew by, and so much happened — yet here we are, making it to the finish line. Now it’s time to pause, slow down, and be present.

Thank you for being part of our Pilates family in 2025. Some of you have been with me since we arrived in Geraldton in 2013 — what a journey it’s been.

The studio will be closed from Tuesday 23 December and will reopen on 7 January 2026.

Wishing you a truly magical Christmas and a safe, happy year ahead. 🎄✨

If you’re still hunting for a last-minute present, here’s a simple, no-stuff idea.

Give someone the chance to taste Pilates in 2026. Move a bit. Feel stronger. Breathe. Reset after a challenging year.

No wrapping paper. No awkward “where do I put this?” moments. Just a genuinely practical gift for all ages.

The value is entirely up to you (and your credit card 😉).

PM me if this sounds like your kind of present.

Back pain — especially a herniated disc — can feel totally life-stopping. But it doesn’t mean you have to give up moving. You just need to know how to move so you’re not poking the bear.

Tonight’s class was all about that: a gentle but powerful mat session designed specifically for people with "unhappy" backs. We focused on hips, glutes and the powerhouse — all the good stuff that supports your spine without aggravating it.

If your back has been giving you grief, come join us this Thursday from 5:15–6:15pm. I’ve got two spots left, and you’ll leave feeling supported, stronger, and a little more hopeful about what your body can still do.

Send me a message if you want one of the spots. ✨

📣 July 2025 was Diastasis Awareness Month

A recent study (2023) found Pilates and core stability exercises improved abdominal muscle thickness and reduced diastasis recti in postnatal women after 8 weeks of training. This reinforces Pilates as an effective, non-invasive option for postnatal recovery.

SHARE THIS INFO with your post-pregnant friends: Pilates can play a powerful role in supporting postnatal recovery — and the evidence backs it up.

🐾 Downward Dog – Hand & Shoulder Alignment Guide 🧘‍♀️
Refine your Down-Dog for better strength, space, and stability:

❌ Incorrect Form:
– Shoulders internally rotate
– Traps squeeze up toward ears
– Fingers pointing inward
– Tension builds in neck and upper back

✅ Correct Form:
– Shoulders externally rotate
– Shoulder blades spread wide
– Traps soften away from ears
– First fingers point forward or slightly outward

✨ Let your upper body feel strong yet relaxed in the pose.

A great NEWS for HCF members!

In July 2025, HCF has reinstated Pilates as an exercise benefit under their Health Management Program.

HCF don’t have any criteria for providers. They require:

- A referral by a GP or Allied Health Professional
- The program addresses a specific medical condition (not general health and wellbeing)

The HCF Health Management Program form has tick boxes for several conditions:

- Arthritis
- Asthma
- Cardiac conditions or heart disease
- Chronic back pain
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Mental health
- Musculoskeletal
- Neurological
- Obesity (BMI >30)
- Other.

It is certainly worthwhile exploring a possible claim for our Pilates classes. However, you will need to get a referral by a GP or Allied Health Professional.

Great news for HCF members!
In order to claim, members must have cover for Health Management Programs under their level for Extras cover, served waiting periods and claim with an Exercise & Gym Benefits form, which includes a requirement that a medical practitioner or HCF Recognised Provider of an Approved Profession specify a particular medical condition that is being addressed by the exercise program.

So, the last couple of weeks, we decided to move our classes indoors because of the chilly weather. Many of our clients, including myself, loved it! I mean, I’m a native of a cooler climate, but I’m not used to waking up with frost bites. :-)

The indoor environment didn't stop us from using our “favourite” prop in a whole new and creative way. We were able to get creative and tap into our muscles, feeling the burn as we went.

Personally, I think, and aslo a few of my client, that the circle is an absolute gem for stretching our spine, inner tights, hamstrings, and upper body.

Now, I’m curious to know what you think. Which prop will we be using next week? Let me know!
