KUKOMA DIAMONDS RESERVE SHOW CLASS WITH 47-24 WIN OVER YOUNG EAGLES

Kukoma Diamonds Reserve delivered a masterclass on Friday at KUHES, coming from behind to beat Young Eagles 47–24 in the Mukuru Under 21 league.

After trailing 10–5 in the first quarter, the young Diamonds showed heart, discipline and real championship mentality.

They turned the game around in the second quarter and never looked back leading 21–14 at halftime, 34–20 in Q3, before closing strong at 47–24.

It was a dominant second half from Kukoma. Their defense was tight, midcourt was composed, and the shooters were clinical. The team’s fitness and teamwork shone as they outscored Eagles 42–14 after Q1.

This was more than just a win. It was a statement. Kukoma Diamonds Reserve proved they have the depth, the talent, and the mentality to go far in this year’s Mukuru U21.

Veteran netballer Jessica Mazengera reminded everyone why she’s a legend of the game after being voted Player of the Match in two games this weekend.

At an age where most would have hung up their bib, Jessica showed no signs of slowing down. She led from the front with smart play, calm decision-making, and the kind of experience that turns games.

From controlling the court to lifting her teammates, Jessica proved once again that leadership, discipline and passion never go out of style.

KUKOMA RESERVE GO TOP IN BLANTYRE LEAGUE

Kukoma Reserve are now top of the Rainbow Paints Blantyre District Netball League after beating Tigresses Cabs 50-39 on the weekend.

A strong all-round performance saw Kukoma control the game and pull away in the second half. The win moves them to 22 points and 1st place on the log.

The team will be looking to hold onto top spot as the league continues.

KUKOMA DIAMONDS CONTINUE DOMINANT RUN, TOP THE TABLE WITH 21 POINTS

Kukoma Diamonds are showing no signs of slowing down after back-to-back victories that have put them firmly at the top of the league standings.

The Diamonds opened the weekend with a commanding 59-43 win over Giants, controlling the game from the first whistle. Their defense was tight and their attack was clinical, leaving Giants with no answers as Kukoma built a lead they never looked like giving up.

They backed it up with another strong performance against Pacers, winning 51-41. Once again it was a complete team display — discipline at the back, speed in transition, and composure in the final quarter saw Kukoma close out the game in style.

With those two results, Kukoma Diamonds now sit top of the table with 21 points, sending a clear message to the rest of the league.

Coach and players praised the squad’s depth and work rate, saying the focus now shifts to maintaining consistency as the season heats up.

The Diamonds faithful will be hoping this form continues as Kukoma look to turn early dominance into silverware come the end of the season.
