We welcomed a family of 3 generations for a come n try session to celebrate a birthday. Ages ranged from 10-70, and there was a great deal of laughter from them, as well as our volunteers, as they all competed with each other.
Some fabulous skills were in evidence and a jump shot that had to be seen to be believed!
The weather started out grey and drizzly but turned into sunny skies.
A fun day for all.

When I created the Clubhouse, it was in response to requests from followers, clubs and croquet enthusiasts who wanted a place where the conversation could continue beyond the Croquet Talk page.

A place to share ideas.

A place to discuss croquet.

A place to promote events.

A place to buy and sell croquet items.

A place to share stories, photographs and experiences.

Most importantly, a place where members of the croquet community can connect with one another.

Thank you to everyone who has already stepped through the door and helped get things started.

If you havenā€™t visited yet, the door is open and weā€™d love to welcome you.

We were very happy to welcome Alison and Dale, visiting from Dunedin, New Zealand, to our club yesterday. It was great to play a few games with them. The weather even turned it on after last week's cold and rainy days. We hope they enjoy the rest of their stay in Adelaide.

Some morningsā€¦ Iā€™ll be honestā€¦
Iā€™ve woken up frustrated.

Frustrated that so few were pushing croquet forwardā€¦
despite the constant talk of dwindling numbers and the future of the game.

Frustrated that something as brilliant as this game feltā€¦ stuck.
Frustrated that even close to home, there was little appetite to build something bigger and definitely better.

And if Iā€™m being completely honestā€¦
Iā€™ve lost count of the number of times Croquet Talk has been overlookedā€¦
dismissedā€¦put down,
or quietly rejected by parts of the croquet community.

And yetā€¦

Something happened.

Without backing.
Without a blueprint.
Without a queue of people lining up to help.

Croquet Talk started to grow.

Not because it shouted the loudestā€¦
But because it believed the strongest.

And hereā€™s the truth ā€”

It was never just me.

It was those who were there at the very beginningā€¦
who saw something before it was fully formed.

And itā€™s also those who found Croquet Talk along the wayā€¦
who recognised that same belief and chose to be part of it.

You didnā€™t just followā€¦
you carried the belief forward.

That matters more than anything.

Because this has never been built on noiseā€¦
or approvalā€¦

Itā€™s been built on people who care enough to say ā€”
this is worth something.

And for that ā€” genuinely ā€” thank you.

Because Croquet Talk is no longer just a page.
Itā€™s a place where croquet is moving forward ā€”
through image, through conversation, through people who believe in it.

And if youā€™re reading this and havenā€™t joined yetā€¦

Youā€™re not late.

Youā€™re right on time.

Because Croquet Talk is still growing.
Still evolving.
Still pushing.

And it needs people who believe in where it can go.

As Winston Churchill once said:

ā€œSuccess is not final. Failure is not fatal.
It is the courage to continue that counts.ā€

Thatā€™s what this is.

Courage to continue.

And togetherā€¦
weā€™re only just getting started.
