Awesome time for us
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT FOR THE COAL CAPITAL!
Blackwater's Coal Capital Speedway is set to return to racing next season after a fresh $1million electrical installation and a new catch fence.
"I have to admit, I got a little emotional when we first switched the lights on,” Club President Nathan Pershouse said.
“From the traffic lights to the light poles and the racing light globes, plus all new underground wiring, it’s essentially a completely new electrical system. The place lights up like a Christmas tree and we can’t wait to get our calendar out and have everyone out to show off the upgrades.”
Following the electrical installation will now be the new catchfence poles and mesh to complete a project that has been 3 years in the making.
“We’d like to thank the Central Highlands Regional Council for their amazing support and Enwise Electrical for their expert advice, former member of the House of Representatives, Ken O’Dowd, and former Speedway Australia officer Adam Brook for his assistance with the grant application that was submitted by David McMahon at Sports Grants QLD.”
Special thanks also to Will and Harry from Black Rocket Aerospace for the drone photos.
