Our favourite meet of the year. Relay Meet! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Swimming can be such an individual sport, but this meet is a reminder of what makes being part of a club so special. It’s about showing up for each other, representing our club with pride, celebrating our teammates, and most importantly, sportsmanship. 💙

Last night we swapped our swimmers for fancy clothes! ✨

It was an honour to attend the Blacktown Sports Awards and celebrate the amazing achievements across our local sporting community.

A huge congratulations to our club on being named a finalist—such a proud moment and a testament to the dedication of our swimmers & coaches. Thank you to everyone who helps make our club what it is.

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners. A fantastic night celebrating community sport! 🏊‍♀️🏆

Another very successful Nationals for Blacktown Masters as we show again that we are one of Australia’s premier clubs!

For the FOURTH year in a row, we are taking home the Visitors’ Trophy for the highest scoring interstate club, and with it we claimed the overall top pointscore in 3 different relay age groups.

Every single one of the 24 swimmers who competed in Brisbane are coming home with a medal, and some extremely impressive PBs as well.

Now for some well-deserved rest before we reset for the rest of the year.

Last night we held a farewell for our wonderful coach Aaron, who is moving up to Queensland at the end of the month.

Aaron has been with our club for several years and his impact to the culture of our club and to Masters swimming in NSW cannot be understated. Aaron has always been a Blacktown boy from his junior days and our community is losing a good one. It has been a privilege to be able to learn from Aaron and he will sorely be missed.

You can take the boy out of Blacktown, but you’ll never take Blacktown out of the boy.

At our carnival yesterday we awarded club president Mark McDonald his Unsung Heroes award.

Mark joined our club as a 22 year old in 2009 and before becoming our president in 2020, he served on our committee as Club Captain and Race Secretary. Mark is also the current Vice President of and in 2025 completed his Masters swimming referee qualification.

If you’re looking for Mark on a weekend, chances are you will find him in the pool competing in a carnival or completing a swim as part of the MSA E1000 program - he will talk your ear off about how ‘enjoyable’ and ‘not that hard’ an 800 butterfly is!

Mark is also an avid swimming traveller and has competed in Nationals in almost every state, and is looking forward to his 10th Nationals in Brisbane in a couple of months! If all goes to plan, Worlds in Budapest next year will be his first foray into international swimming 🌍 🏊‍♂️

His enthusiasm and leadership of Blacktown has seen Blacktown become a big presence at MSNSW and MSA carnivals, with our club proudly winning the Visitors trophy at the last 3 Nationals carnivals, and winning the MSNSW Relay meet for the past 4 years in a row.

We were very happy to be able to have the chance to acknowledge all the hours marks has put into our sport at a club, state and national level. Congratulations!
