Matthew Stevens vs Payak Samui
These Spartans truly lived up to their billing!
Pure class, skill, power and tenacity displayed by both champions! 5 rounds of bruising action saw
Matty do enough to outscore Payak.
The new SCC Super Welterweight FTR Champion by unanimous decision went to Matthew Stevens!
Semi Main Event
Sulaiman Hashemi vs Jye Van Polen
Jye started off strong with his power punches and quick counters but Sulaiman always stayed the more active after round 1 to get nod from the judges. Close bout that could have gone either way! The new SCC Light Welterweight FTR Champion Sulaiman’The Afghan Warrior’ Hashemi.
Brian Agina boxed his way to another KO win in the 2nd round against Bangkok based fighter Niratsai Panthong.
Fight of the night!
Krunoslav Horvat from the Spartans House of Champions vs Santo ‘King Cowboy’ Joma.
The action was hard and fast for 3 rounds entertaining the crowd with noise that raised the roof off!! Both boys had their moments and entertained as anticipated.
The new SCC Super Middleweight K1 rules Victorian Champion by unanimous decision went to Kruno Horvat.
Former World Amateur Champion Connar Hotene Wilson finally got his pro debut win with a unanimous points win over Argentinian Angel Ribas. 3 rounds of FTR action saw Connar land the harder strikes with good variety including those elbows.
Harry Horsell from Adelaide came out hard against Melbourne’s Oscar Kong. An exciting exchange of hard blows from both men had the crowd expecting a knock out! The 2nd round was it when Harry landed a hard knee to the head which clearly rocked Oscar and sent him down for the count with the referee calling it over. TKO win for Harry.
Paul Ah Wa from Spartans House of Champions and Brandon Mader from Adelaide clashed horns in a 72kg bout. Paul dropped Brandon with a big overhand right which sent him crashing to the canvas. Brandon survived the round was given time to clear his head and to his credit came back to win rounds 2 & 3.
Decision Draw!
In the heavyweight bout for the night, Jamie Yacoub from Spartans House of Champions traded big hits with Kiani Walk.
In what could have easily have been a knock out for either of these two power hitters, this bout went the full distance. Kiani used some nice kicks to the body and head but Jamie landed the clearer blows with some big overhand rights and hard low kicks which clearly slowed Kiani down.
Unanimous decision victory for Jamie!
Veteran Martin Aimino from Spartans House of Champions took on 19yo Andre Bussau from Adelaide. Both boys jumped on each other with no time to waste! Both rolling the dice, Andre was the one who landed the decisive blow which rattled Martin! Unable to steady back on his feet, the referee rightly waved the fight off.
Andre Bussau winner by TKO round 1.
