Our inaugural Past Players T20 game was one to remember with many players returning to play at Kalang for the first time in many years!
It was fantastic to see the whole Laburnum community together - past and present!
A significant part of the day was paying tribute to club legend Chris Haines who sadly passed away just before Christmas with all players wearing black armbands to honour his significant contributions on and off the field.
Chris (Pictured far right in the junior team photo) played an integral role in the growth of our club. Among his achievements included captaining the 03/04 3rd XI premiership and playing the very important role of junior team manager/coach of his son Nick’s team throughout the age groups where he was a real mentor to a number of players who played in the game on Sunday. This also included coaching an under 16 premiership with fellow club great, Warren Cutler.
Most importantly, Chris epitomised the Spirit of Cricket and was a key part of our community, our thoughts are with the Haines family at this very difficult time.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring the day together. It really was a day to remember and we look forward to making this day an annual event on the LCC calendar!
