Contact us about arrangements for carpooling and access. Armidale Rowing Clubs is based out of the Rogers-Sypkens boathouse, located on the Malpas Dam. Located to the South East of Guyra, and to the north of Armidale (see location map), Malpas Dam was built as the major water supply for the city of Armidale. It

s construction was completed in 1968 and currently has a storage capacity of 13,000 megalitres with expansion capabilities to 26,000megalitres. It is the home of Sailing, Fishing and Dragon-boating Clubs, as well as the Rowing Club, and many competition meetings are held on the dam throughout the year. Picnicing and viewing facilities are available but there is strictly no camping.

Ever fancied learning to row? We’re offering a six-week Learn to Row (LTR) program and there are still a few slots left! You will learn:
✅ Rowing techniques (on water & in the gym)
✅ Boat handling & water safety
✅ Rowing lingo & more!
You’ll receive close instruction and individual feedback from experienced rowers from Armidale Rowing Club PLUS you'll get fit and have fun doing it! Program costs $150 and starts Sunday 26 July in the gym followed by the next five Saturdays on the water. All equipment provided. Two ARC legends at Head of the Tweed last weekend: a 21km half marathon course from Chinderah to Murwillumbah on the beautiful Tweed River! Both competed in single sculls, Rachel placing 2nd overall in the women's and Andreas 5th overall in the men's class!! Woo-hoo!
