AUS SWIMMING TRIALS ||
Last update - Yesterday was the final day of the trials, and Emily swam in the 1500m Free timed final held in the morning.

Emily swam really well - and Janelle was keeping time while also giving some insight on the commentary team!

Well done to ALL our swimmers - congratulations on reaching the highest level of competition in Australia! We are so proud of you all.

Huge thanks also to our coaches. Janelle has been the stalwart on deck all week in Sydney, while Kevin and Jarmo covered the squads ‘back home’. We appreciate the way our coaches all work together.

AUS SWIMMING TRIALS || Friday update

Friday was Tom and Dylan’s day. Dylan swam the 1500m in the morning heats. No PB, but a great effort to be at trials!
Tom had a fantastic swim in the fastest heat which was held in the evening, finishing 4th in Australia!!!!!!

AUS CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE ||
I’ve got a couple of updates to make - Emily Broun swam a Personal Best time in the 800m on Thursday, coming in 16th place overall! AMAZING!!
Emily also swimming this morning in a 1500m timed final (fastest final being held tonight). We’re cheering for you, Emily!

The 2026 Australian Swimming Trials got underway yesterday at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, where the Dolphins teams heading to the 2026 Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacs and Para Pan Pacs will be selected.

Tom and Cooper represented Kawana Waters in the 400m Freestyle, both earning great praise from coach Janelle.

Tom took over 2 seconds off his previous best 400m time, finishing in 19th place. What a fantastic effort! Cooper also swam well, finishing in 32nd place. Janelle was particularly pleased with Cooper’s lead up to the event and excited that both boys took the opportunity to race against Australia’s best swimmers. Indeed, Tom and Cooper are among this elite group!!

KAWANA WATERS REPRESENT AT AUS TRIALS || Commonwealth Games & Pan Pacific Games Trials

The Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Games Trials will be held from June 8th–13th.

We are proud to have five athletes attending these Trials. In alphabetical order (no favourites):

Tom Raymond

All swimmers are coached by Janelle Pallister.

We wish you all the very best. Be courageous, back your preparation and enjoy the journey and experience that comes with competing at this level (and we hope you especially love the new dome swim caps)!!

Ready to give their all this morning was our 12 & under swimmers, proudly supported by Coach Kevin.

Well done to the team who posted some great times with amazing personal best achievements as well.

Congratulations also to our 13 & Over swimmers who competed in the distance events on a freezing Friday night, and then in a range of events this afternoon.

Again, some super impressive swimming, state times locked in, and race experience all backed up with support from Coach Kevin and Coach Jarmo!

Thanks to St Andrew’s Swimming Club for putting on a great meet, and for ordering sunny weather for today - ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

CLUB MEMBERSHIPS || Kawana Waters Swimming Club memberships for the 2026–27 season are now live in Swim Central and ready for renewal.

As a registered PlayOn! Sports Voucher activity provider, Kawana Waters Swimming Club accepts PlayOn! Vouchers, which can be redeemed through Swim Central and used towards the cost of your membership.

If you’d like to find out more about the PlayOn! program or apply for a voucher, please visit qld.gov.au/playon.

Please note that PlayOn! Vouchers expire on 19 June 2026, so we encourage families to redeem their voucher before this date to avoid missing out.
