💛 A little story we wanted to share.
In the lead up to our AGM we were contacted by Jill Magick with this lovely message. We are sharing with permission from Jill:

“I grew up in Binnaway and my father Allan Magick hand made every cement brick to build the tennis clubhouse. Everyone thought he was way too ambitious but with limited help he achieved his goal and the clubhouse became a great asset to the town and helped make the Easter tournament that he organised very successful for a number of years. He never wanted any recognition for his work but eventually agreed to a small plaque being placed on the wall inside the clubhouse.
I live in Port Macquarie and my parents retired here in the 1980's and both passed away some time ago. I rarely get back to Binnaway now.
Can you tell me if Dad's plaque is still in the clubhouse please?
I am so pleased that tennis has appeared to have a revival in Binnaway as it's so important in any country town. Growing up we spent many hours playing tennis. I hope you get good numbers at your AGM and tennis continues to thrive in Binnaway.

We were delighted to find the plaque still is on the wall in the clubhouse! Wonderful to learn more of the history of the building 😊😊.

🙌🏻 Competition success for Binnaway Tennis Club members
Congratulations to our club members for their successful results in the Coonabarabran Tennis Club Far West Academy tennis weekend:
🏆Jack Stewart won his age group,
🏅Tori Henley and Simone Wilson were runners up in the ladies doubles
🥇Dan Stewart and DJ Henley won their division men’s doubles
🎾 Great to see Binnaway players performing so strongly in the area tournament. There were 75 players competing across the weekend.
Don’t forget to bring the family on Sunday for more tennis fun, play alongside our famous Tori and enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch.
