Gwydir Fitness Centres Located in Bingara & Warialda, Gwydir Fitness Centres are community facilities managed by Gwydir Shire Council. Open for public membership, 24 hours.

The Gwydir Fitness Centres are 24 hour centres open for public membership. The Warialda centre is located next to the Warialda Library at 38 Hope Street and the Bingara centre is in the Bingara Sports Club 8 Bombelli Street. This is a community facility managed by Gwydir Shire Counci. Electronic entry and cameras are installed to provide security for members. The Warialda centre contains one compe

tition standard squash court and a separate weight training area. Initial consultation will be available during the induction process and then by appointment
The facilities will be available for hire by personal trainers and fitness instructors.

***UPDATE - RESCHEDULE***

Hello members,

Due to unforseen circumstances the gym servicing has been rescheduled.

The contractor will now be onsite Tuesday, 17 March, and Wednesday 18 March 2026 to service equipment at both gyms.

You will still have access to the facilities whilst this is being done, however there may be pieces of equipment that cannot be used for short periods whilst maintenance is being conducted.

***Attention Bingara Gym goers***

The drink station at the Bingara gym is currently out of order. We are working in getting this fixed as soon as possible.

Please ensure you take water with you to the gym until this issue is resolved.

Warialda Gym – OPEN

As of 11:30am on Wednesday 21 January 2026, the Warialda Gym is open for use.

The issue with the FOB system has been resolved.

The Warialda Gym is still experiencing issues with the FOB entry system at the facility and will remain closed until at least tomorrow, Wednesday 21 January 2026. Please watch this space for an update on when the venue will reopen.

Christmas Closure Period

Hello Members,

This post is to advise that Gwydir Shire Council offices will close from 4pm, Wednesday, 24 December 2025 and re-open from 9am, Monday, 5 January 2026.

To guarantee your access to the gym facilities in Bingara and Warialda during this period please ensure that your membership is paid up to date prior to the closure.

Should there be an emergency at either facility during the shutdown period, please contact the on-call numbers located on council's website, or 0460 013 113. Please be advised that these numbers will only respond to emergency repairs and maintenance issues, there will be no membership applications or renewals being processed during the shutdown period.

If there is a medical emergency, please call 000.

***UPDATE***

The issue has been resolved and the gym is now open again at Warialda.
If the issue persists please contact Council 02 6724 2000 and speak with Casey McClymont.

***ANNOUNCEMENT - WARIALDA GYM CLOSED***
There seems to be a power outage at the Warialda gym at the moment. We are currently investigating the issue.

For the safety of all members, the gym is CLOSED.
