Have you noticed that life has its way of working things out, regardless of how much we do or don’t plan?

Plan for practicalities, yes. But don’t try and plan away life!

Shift out of the limited field of the rational mind and let life’s subtle intelligence move, inspire and guide you instead.

This way, we access far greater energy and capacity.

Learn to trust and enjoy the opportunities, insights and intuitive knowings that only arise through you moment-to-moment - and be in sync with life’s perfect plan.✌🏼💛

"We wish we knew where we stand with our boss." Sadly, we’re all too familiar with this statement in our workplaces.

As leaders, its easy for us to withhold giving honest, constructive feedback for fear of upsetting someone.

If we want people to perform at their best, giving honest, constructive feedback is part of the deal.

As a leader, if we avoid giving feedback or having difficult conversations, not only do we miss the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards the growth of our team, we also generate a culture of fear and distrust.

So what can we do to help ourselves become better leaders?

Being a good boss who can give honest feedback is a practice. It starts with being honest within ourselves, and being present with rather than avoiding our own experiences of discomfort.

Yeah, its not easy.

It requires self-awareness and a radical self-accountability. And a big heart. 💛

But by staying mindfully grounded in our body, we can learn to notice the uncomfortable gripping in our belly, or the tightening in our chest. And we can gently breathe into and soften our holding.

We can develop the habit of being present and accepting of our own discomfort, rather than avoiding it.

Whatever we practice, we get better at.

Breaking the patterns of avoidance is honest, real leadership development work. It is messy, yet it is tremendously rewarding.

Everyday I’m doing this same inner work. I notice my own tendencies to react or shutdown when I see behaviours in others that I don’t like. Meditation and yoga supports me to intentionally choose to lean into and be able to relax my tension ‘in the moment’. I’m able to be caring and compassionate with myself, instead of harsh. Over the years I’ve noticed how my avoidant edges have softened.

And I appreciate just how much we are all caught in the same, repeating cycles of avoidance that unnecessarily hold us back from truly empowering others. 💫

That’s why I love coaching and supporting leaders.

Vertical Growth is an approach to leadership development that involves us seeing into our unconscious patterns of thinking and behaviours, and learning to deal with them mindfully, with patience and compassion. It covers how to:

* understand your mind and regulate emotional responses;
* expose and resolve limiting assumptions and fears in yourself and your team; and
* build a culture of psychological safety, trust and accountability.

I’ll be sharing more gems about the program in the weeks to come.

Peace, joy and love are not just about wishful thinking. They are the foundations of who we are.

Our heart is one of goodness. And when we're at ease, we are naturally loving, peaceful and happy. The trouble is, our conditioned minds and life circumstances often cloud this.

We forget our true nature and instead we become obsessive about trying to fix life, control our work situations or to prove our self-worth to others, in an effort just to feel better about ourselves. Feelings of resentment, anxiety and shame can become our norm.

Many of us only get to feel loving and peaceful when we are on holidays - but what if this was part of your genuine experience everyday?

The beautiful invitation about mindfulness, about being self-aware, is that we grow it. Like a seed that's planted in the garden, when you add the right amount of water, sunshine and fertiliser, it sprouts and flourishes.

Being mindful and present is a learned skill that leads to freedom.

💫You can become more skilful, in practical and profound ways, to quickly return to peace, joy and love in any moment of your life, regardless of the circumstances.

• Peace - can be felt through the skilled practice of acceptance and allowing;
• Joy - can be experienced through the skilled practice of celebrating successes and the happiness of others; and
• Love - can be experienced through the skilled practice of being kind and compassionate.

It might sound fluffy, but its powerful!

Thanks to the scientific work of David Hawkins, its easy to understand the different energetic frequencies of our states of consciousness.

The frequencies of peace, joy and love are the highest vibrations we can experience.

The frequencies of anger, desire, fear and guilt are the lowest vibrations we can experience.

Each moment that we are present and fully engaged in life - rather than half-living through denying, numbing, judging or avoidance - gives rise to the higher vibrations.

We can always choose to flourish and thrive.

If you would like to learn how to more readily connect with the peace, joy and love within you, and to practice and integrate this more in your every day life, I'd love to share my processes and meditations with you.

I'm committed and passionate about this work!

End-of-year celebrating… and the Enneagram Types in us ALL! (Thank you to the Narrative Tradition who I trained with.)

Today starts with Enneagram Type 1s - you know who you are, perfect in your imperfection! 💫

Let's take some time here at the end of the year to celebrate the gifts of each type! 5-star reviews for everyone's best qualities and human potential. May we appreciate the goodness in ourselves and each other this holiday season, however we can...

The gifts of Type 1: Ones are idealistic and exert great effort to improve the world around them. They are honest, responsible, conscientious, hard-working, dependable, practical and self-reliant.

As well as being pre-Christmas, its our last new moon for 2022 and the Summer Solstice (longest day and official start of Summer) in Perth.

Its a time of transitions and energetic shifts.

And there’s likely to be a myriad of feelings surfacing.

You could find yourself scrambling through your christmas to-do list, trying to hold it all together. You might be tired from the end-of-year everythings and want to just hide under a rock. Things could feel a bit lack-lustre as you struggle to be in-the-christmas-spirit. Or you could (want to) be excited to travel, yet feel exhausted as you escape to another land.

Really, it’s all ok. However you feel at this time of the year is completely ok. I hope you know that.

Here are my best tips to go gently on yourself as we navigate it all:

🌟 Do your best to focus your energy and attention on one thing at a time - and then let-go. Catch yourself “over-doing.”

🌟 Give yourself space and quiet, restful time, by the water or in your garden, and soak your senses in nature.

🌟 Spend a few quiet moments cultivating inner peace, joy and ease. Do your favourite mind-body practices, like yoga or meditation.

🌟 Believe in yourself. You’ll figure the big things out, in time. For now, try not to over-think your life challenges. Things do fall into place, when we give ourselves time.

Happy Summer holidays. Be at peace with yourself, however you are. And have a beautiful Christmas.

With love
✨💛 Natalie
