As the we approach the finals this weekend our championship events have all been wrapped up. We thank all of the sponsors for their contribution toward all of the events.
The first championship event of the season was the Beverley IGA 4’s With the winning team being. Aaron Smith, Brendan Minchin, Ben Murray and Sheldon Petchell. Runners Up were David Bell, Geoff Rayner, Reg Behn and Sean Greene.
The second event held was the Beverley Transport pairs with Aaron smith and Brendan Minchin taking out the win and coming runners up Louis Irvine and Damian Murray.
The third event was the Hutchinson single’s with a lot of very good bowls played by all. The final was a Murray v Murray shoot out with the two brothers fighting it out in a 3 hour long tussle with Damian Murray taking the win and Ben Murray coming runner up.
The last event was the Bendigo Bank Triples. The winning team of the day was Aaron smith,Brendan Minchin and Sean Greene and the runners up David Bell,
Allan Hammond and Michael Carthew.
We thank all of the members for their participation throughout the season and wish both divisions the best of luck for the finals this weekend.

Well done Glenys Collins on getting through to the final of the AVBL Ladies Singles Championship held at Dowerin Bowling Club today. Unfortunately defeated by Sian Smith from York Bowling Club.

Thank you very much to the members and supporters who made the effort to cheer on the top division boys over the last couple of days in Northam. Unfortunately the guys couldn’t get over the last hurdle.

The Geoff Hutchinson Memorial Singles Championship concluded yesterday with a great display of bowls from both finalists in front of a healthy crowd. Brad Copping was the eventual Champion with a 25-23 thrilling win over Peter Fleay. The plate was won by Reg Behn over Damien Murray. Well done to all competitors and thanks to the Hutchinson family on the continued support.

The Beverley Transport championship pairs was played over the weekend with 6 teams enduring the heat playing a 5 game round robin. Congratulations to the winners Aaron Smith and Brendan Minchin winning with 4 wins and 36 shots up. Brad Copping and Josh Sattler came runners up on a count back with 4 wins and 11 shots up. Thank you to Beverley Transport for their ongoing support of the club it is greatly appreciated.
