Community meetings for the Walwa River Road bushfire will be held on Thursday 15 January for impacted residents.

This Emergency Warning to Evacuate Immediately is being issued for Tallangatta Valley, Bullioh and surrounds. - There is a bushfire at 27Km West Of Walwa that is not yet under control.
- There is a bushfire moving in your direction.
- Leave and go to Tallangatta or Wodonga.
- There are relief centres at Tallangatta Memorial Hall or Wodonga Racecourse.
If you choose to stay, emergency services may not be able to help you.

If you are located in Tallangatta Valley and Bullioh, it is recommended you evacuate immediately and move to a safer location away from the fire. Go to Tallangatta/Wodonga on the Murray Valley Highway.

For anyone camping at the Rec Reserve or passing through town, the Bethanga Hotel is open from 6.30am for all your early morning breakfast and coffee.

Bethanga Hotel: Brewing Earlier Than Ever ☕️

As we excitedly wait for new owners to take over the General Store, Bethanga Hotel is temporarily stepping in to keep everyone fuelled, caffeinated, and fed. Starting Monday December 8th, we’ll now be opening from 6:30am Monday to Friday. With the possibility of extended days & hours based on demand.

We’ll be serving coffees from the machine you all know and love, plus grab-and-go breakfast options like bacon & egg sandwiches, brekkie wraps and other easy bites for busy mornings. Welcome to have in house or takeaway!

To help everyone ease into the new routine:

Mon–Tues: 6:30am opening with breakfast + Lunch options until 2pm.

Wed–Fri: 6:30am coffees and breakfast options, then our usual menu from lunchtime onwards.

Sat–Sun: Open from 12pm, with all your weekend favourites while we find our rhythm.

We’re excited to keep the village buzzing in the meantime, whether you’re grabbing a takeaway on the run or settling in for a warm breakfast and a chat.
