On 30/08/2026, the Frenchville Under 12 mixed team, comprising 11 players from three of the Frenchville under 12/13 teams along with one player from the Bluebirds Football Club, made a memorable trip to Emerald to participate in the highly competitive 2026 Barraclough Shield Carnival.
The team engaged in five keenly contested matches throughout the day, showcasing remarkable skills and sportsmanship on the field. The games were played vigorously, with end-to-end action that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. The players demonstrated not only their technical abilities but also their capacity to collaborate as a cohesive unit.
The highlight of the event was the fiercely fought exhibition match which concluded the Carnival. After a intense battle, the match ended in a draw, leading to a penalty shootout. The team clinched victory with a nail-biting 5-4 win, further exemplifying their determination and resilience.
All players contributed significantly to the team's performance, but special recognition goes to Charlie, who was outstanding in goal. His exceptional saves and composure under pressure were crucial to the team's success, especially during the penalty shootout.
