And that’s a wrap for HOTY for 2025, with great weather, amazing rowing, an amazing weekend of good food, coffee, a lot of laughs and maybe a bit of shopping on the side 🫣

Again thanks to everyone at Endeavour and our families, for supporting our passion, and a special shout out to our club captain, for all her amazing efforts organising training and travel logistics. It’s much appreciated. 🤩 Also to our cox Laura…you were a star keeping us motivated and on track. And to our crew fairies, you were an amazing support crew of two…Thank you ❤️

Until next year….

NSW Master Championships – 17/18 May 2025

Twelve of our squad travelled to the Sydney International Rowing Course, with eleven competing at the 2025 NSW Masters Championships. For the first time in a number of years we were without our main supporter and coach, Peter Bond, to advise, encourage and organise our boat numbers, substitutions and withdrawals. As was common in the lead up to the Championships, we had two devastated rowers who couldn’t compete and had to withdraw the day before competition started. June and Marg had worked extremely hard in the lead up to the competition and were understandably frustrated. We were able to rearrange and adapt, giving everyone their row except the WMG 4x on the Sunday morning.
We arrived at the course on the Saturday morning to find the fog reminiscent from the year before, unlike last year, where the first session was cancelled we were able to start competition with only a 30 minute delay.

From 16 starts, Endeavour came home with 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, Lindy winning gold and silver, a gold and bronze to Chris, 2 x b***e to Rosie and a bronze for Di.

Lindy and Chris started early winning gold in the 9th race partnering in the WMH2x, Rosie teamed up with Lake Macquarie in the WD4x winning bronze, keeping UTS on their toes and only finishing 1.86 seconds behind them. Lindy won silver in the WH1x. Chris and Di advanced to the final in the WG2x winning bronze in front of an experienced Newcastle crew by .27seconds.
Winding up the weekend with Rosie in the WE1x – winning bronze against very impressive opponents, missing out on silver by 1.27 seconds and beating 4th place by 15 seconds.

Notable performances were Chris advancing to the final for the WG1x coming in a very respectable 4th place, Next came the mixed races with Lindy teaming up with Drummoyne coming in third, with our crew of Lizel, Jacques, Dave and Katrina in the same race. Then the changes in crews began - in the WE4x Chris jumped in for Marg with Lizel, Myff and Katrina - advancing to the final and Di was able to fill in for June with Gillian, Karen and Tracey for a great row. On Sunday, Lindy was available to replace June for a row with Karen, Tracey and Katrina in the WF4x – giving everyone more racing experience.
Rosie and Di advanced to the final for the WE2x with an impressive 4th place.
A big thank you to our in-crowd cheer squad of June, and also to the members cheering from home and sending us messages.
