Hi, My name is Catherine and I have been a swimming teacher for 14 years. I also have my Junior License in Coaching, which I have held for the past 3 years. I have completed my Certificate 4 in Personal training, which qualifies me to train adults, older adults and children in competitive sports or just to keep fit. Over this time I have been offering training in general fitness, teaching Learn to
Swim, stroke correction and squads from infants through to adults. My goal is for children to have water awareness and to teach the right swimming technique while they are young. Someone once said, “it takes seven times the amount of effort to change a bad habit as it does to learn it right the first time.”
My swim school is open from October to April of each year. The pool is heated to an average of 30 degrees. During the swim season lesson continues throughout all kinds of weather, except lightening/thunder storms. We run an intensive School holiday swimming program in January for 2 to 3 weeks. I generally do one-on-one teaching. Most swim schools do groups lessons, however I believe teaching one-on-one gives us the opportunity to get the best out of your children. As the children get older they need to work on their stamina (this requires longer lessons) so I do a group of 2 to 3 children. The swim school is in the suburb of Berowra, and the pool is in my backyard so I aim to keep the noise down as much as possible out of respect for my neighbours. Parking is limited to on the street parking.
