Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads in our Chandralaya community! 💙

Our recent Dads & Daughters Bharathanatyam class was such a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful thing we can give our children is simply our time, our presence and our willingness to step into their world. 🤎

There was plenty of laughter, some very determined araimandis 😂, daughters becoming gurus for the day, and dads who didn’t just cope… they absolutely THRIVED! 👏🏽

But beyond the dancing, it was about connection. About dads showing their girls, “What matters to you, matters to me too.” And that was incredibly special to witness.

To all the fathers, grandfathers and father figures who encourage, support, show up and quietly cheer from the sidelines — we see you and we celebrate you today.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Chandralaya. 💙✨

One of my 9-year-old students came up to me recently and said, “Auntie, we’re learning about growth mindset and fixed mindset at school.”

Then she paused and realised… we had already spoken about this in her very first year of dance training, two years ago. And she simply said, “Thank you.” 🤎

Moments like this remind me why arts education is so much more than learning steps, rhythm or performance.

Through dance, children learn to try again after getting something wrong, to stay with discomfort, to practise without instant reward, to receive correction without seeing it as failure, and to understand that ability grows with effort.

Sometimes, long before they have the vocabulary for concepts like growth mindset, they are already living them through the arts.

I feel incredibly grateful that we get to introduce these ideas so early — helping our children build not just stronger dancers, but grounded, resilient and self-aware young people.

One of the things I love most about being Victorian is the feeling that you truly belong in a multicultural society.

The Multicultural Victoria Gala captures that beautifully.

From the moment you walk in, every detail feels thoughtfully curated — the colours, the performances, the conversations, the food, the stories and the incredible mix of cultures all coming together in one room.

It’s more than a celebration of diversity. It’s a reminder of what makes Victoria so special: people from different backgrounds, faiths and communities not just living alongside one another, but contributing, connecting and shaping this state together.

Always grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with so many people I’ve worked with across community, arts, business and multicultural spaces — and to celebrate the richness of the communities we are fortunate to be part of.

A beautiful evening of culture, connection and belonging. ✨

Back from Chennai and straight back to one of my happiest places. 🤎

There’s something so grounding about walking back into the studio, hearing the familiar sounds, seeing these faces and spending my weekend dancing with my students again.

No matter how far I travel, coming back to my students always feels a little like coming home. 🥹❤️

Full heart. Tired feet. Wouldn’t have it any other way. ✨
