I have experienced firsthand the challenges of emotional eating. Emotional eating is when we turn to food to cope with emotions rather than hunger. Stress, boredom, loneliness, sadness, anxiety, and fatigue can make it all too tempting to turn to food for comfort. But through trial and error, I’ve learned that there are healthier ways to cope. ⬇️

🟣 Stress: Practice deep breathing, mindfulness, or take a short walk to clear your mind.

🟣 Boredom: Engage in a new hobby, read a book, or call a friend to fill in your time in a meaningful way.

🟣 Loneliness: Reach out to loved ones, join a community group, or spend time with a pet.

🟣 Sadness or Depression: Journaling, talking to a therapist, or gentle exercise can help improve mood.

🟣 Anxiety: Try grounding exercises, meditation, or progressive muscle relaxation to ease tension.

🟣 Fatigue: Prioritise rest, stay hydrated, and consider short breaks throughout the day to recharge.

Taking small steps to understand and manage these triggers will lead to a healthier relationship with food and a better sense of well-being. 💜
