Congratulations Chase Poyser- 2026 Ginge Award Recipient!
The ‘Ginge’ Award is named in honour of Pioneers legend Ken ‘Ginger’ Gilbee. Ginge was a quiet achiever who dedicated 25 years to the program, always making sure players had everything they needed at training, team dinners and on game day. When Ginge was around, everyone knew they were in good hands.
The award is built around four key pillars: Reliable, Relentless, Resilient and Respectful. Each week, every player voted for a teammate who they believed best demonstrated these qualities, both on and off the field.
This year, Chase Poyser was the well-deserved recipient of the Ken ‘Ginger’ Gilbee Players’ Player Award. Throughout the season, Chase consistently demonstrated all four pillars through the way he trained, competed, supported his teammates and carried himself away from the field.
Being recognised by your teammates is one of the most prestigious honours in sport, and this award is a true reflection of the respect Chase has earned from those around him.
