Bendigo Senjuns Hockey Club

Bendigo Senjuns Hockey Club Keeping all members of Bendigo Senjuns informed and connected.

The Senjuns Hockey Club was formed in 1986 by close friends, Glenda Nevinson (who coached the team for seven years), Alison Ferguson, Alison Campbell and Judy Hasty. Alison Perkins, a senior player who agreed with these friends’ hockey aims, later joined forces with the club. The vision of these senior players was to use their encouragement, skill and experience to develop young, interested hockey

players into an enthusiastic, fair minded and committed team. For their new team, the founders agreed upon the name "Senjuns" which originated from two words, "Seniors" and "Juniors", and underpinned the goals of this group.

We also had some represent North Central.

Men's Masters, Women's Masters, and Open Men teams secured gold. Open Women's team won bronze.

We are celebrating National Volunteer Week 2026 at Bendigo Senjuns Hockey Club with the theme Your Year to Volunteer.

This theme honours the contributions of volunteers and encourages people across Australia to make 2026 the year they get involved and make a difference.
Our club is made up of many volunteers from committee members to coaches, managers, canteen helpers, to people who buy the lollies and organise uniforms.

National Volunteer Week 2026 celebrates the commitment of current volunteers and invites everyone to discover how giving their time and talents can spark joy, and a deep sense of purpose.

Make this Your Year to Volunteer and help create lasting, positive change.
