Huge thanks to Cindy and Grant from Services Australia (aka Centrelink) who visited the Benambra Neighbourhood House today!
Cindy shared fantastic information regarding Aged Care Services and how to apply, also home care packages and residential care and the assistance available to community members over the age of 65.
However, you are never too young to start planning!
Grant also discussed a range of Financial Information Services open to all ages and the help available to everyone.
You can visit the Services Australia (Centrelink) office in Bairnsdale at 60-62 Macleod St, Bairnsdale, 8.30 to 4.30pm, Mon to Fri. Or call 132468.
We were also joined by Leanne from Omeo District Health, who provided a wealth of knowledge on how local service providers can assist with navigating the Aged Care system and the many services that can be provded.
Thank you to the 13 local residents who attended the session. Your contributions enriched the conversation and provided us all with great ideas, insights, and reasons to take up these important services.
A special thanks to BNH and particularly Pauline Connley, who brought along some delicious food for us to enjoy on such a glorious day!
Mark your diaries!
Services Australia will be back on Wednesday, July 29th. Lisa will be providing information tailored specifically to the farming community, including the Farm Household Allowance. We will also welcome Allison from the Red Cross to explain their current services.
Wednesday, July 29th, will also be our free Community BBQ Day (pushed back a couple of weeks due to the July school holidays).
Make sure to put July 29th in your diary—it’s going to be another enjoyable, informative day with good food and great people! 🌭✨
