We’re open today for tobogganing and snow play.

Our snowmaking team has been busy overnight, taking advantage of the cold conditions and adding to our snowpack.

Lifts remain closed for now while we continue making snow and assess conditions.

The season isn’t over yet. We’ll keep working with every snowmaking opportunity we get and provide further updates as conditions improve.

❄️ SNOW & OPERATIONS UPDATE ❄️

We’re not done with winter yet! ⛷️🏂

We are continuing to monitor conditions daily and remain committed to hitting the snowmaking hard whenever Mother Nature gives us the opportunity, with our goal still to keep the season going through until mid-September.

There are some promising snowmaking windows coming through this weekend and into next week. Our snowmaking team is ready to go, and when the temperatures drop, we’ll be taking every opportunity to rebuild our currently limited snowpack.

At this stage, we do not expect lift operations to resume until the following weekend. However, this is weather dependent, and if conditions improve sooner, we’ll reassess accordingly.

From today and throughout the weekend, we’ll provide daily updates on conditions, snowmaking and our expected timeline for getting the lifts turning again.

It’s certainly been a challenging winter, but the season isn’t over yet. We need some good cold nights to rebuild the snowpack, and we’ll be making the most of every snowmaking opportunity that comes our way. ❄️💪

The mountain and National Park remain open, with snow play and tobogganing available where conditions allow.

❄️ The season isn’t over yet! ❄️

Lift operations are currently on a short hiatus due to the recent warmer weather and lack of snow. However, snow play and tobogganing remain available, and the national park is always open for visitors.

We are watching a colder change expected later this week, with natural snow possible from Friday and snowmaking conditions looking favourable over the weekend. If conditions deliver, we hope to resume lift operations over the weekend of 22–23 August. This remains an indication only, and we will assess conditions as they develop.

And then there’s Monday, 24 August… 👀

The longer-range forecast is currently showing the potential for more than 30 cm of snow throughout the day and night, with further snow following on Tuesday.

Will it come? It is still a little too far away to know for certain, but let’s keep a very close eye on what could potentially become the snow dump of the season! 🤞❄️

We’ll continue providing regular updates as the forecast becomes clearer.

Unfortunately, the warmer weather has taken its toll on our snowpack, meaning our lifts won’t be operating over the coming days.

The good news? We’re still open for snow play and tobogganing! ❄️🛷

We’re keeping a close eye on the forecast and hoping for colder temperatures next week so we can get the snow guns firing again.

Good morning Tasmania 🏂

We have our first APSI Level 1 Snowboard Course running from August 24th-27th. There is one spot left for anyone interested in improving their snowboarding technique and getting qualified as a snowboard instructor.

This course includes 4 full days with a Level 4 APSI trainer flying down from the mainland just for us. See the link for course costs, information and to book directly.

It was a pleasure to recently welcome Tasmania’s Minister for Sports and Events, Parks and Heritage, and Energy and Renewables, Nick Duigan, to Ben Lomond Alpine Resort recently.

Our team enjoyed the opportunity to show the Minister around the resort, discuss the season so far, and share the important role Ben Lomond plays in Tasmania's winter tourism industry, regional economy, and local community.
