Stunning alpine nights and some encouraging weather ahead! ✨❄️

Forecasts are currently showing a promising run of snowmaking conditions from early Saturday, and our team is on standby ready to make the most of every opportunity to build our snow base.

There's still plenty that depends on the weather, so we'll be monitoring conditions closely and providing regular updates over the coming days. For now, we're excited to see a favourable forecast and what it could mean for the week ahead.

Well... Unfortunately our opening weekend didn't quite get the winter welcome we were hoping for. ❄️

While we haven't received enough snow to open just yet, cooler temperatures are on the way and we're looking forward to some promising snowmaking opportunities this coming week.

For now, our resident snowman is doing his best with what he's got. ⛄️

Winter isn't far away. Stay tuned!

Good morning everyone,

The weather gods have finally allowed us to make some snow overnight and we will continue snowmaking whenever temperatures allow over the coming days.

Unfortunately, there is still not enough snow coverage for skiing or snowboarding operations at this stage, so lifts will not be running until we have sufficient snow to safely operate them.

Over this weekend, there should be enough snow for snow play and tobogganing. We will provide another update on Saturday morning confirming operations and conditions.

Remember to organise all your rentals, chain hire and snow play packages from Ben Lomond Base before heading up the mountain.

Chains are required to be carried when travelling to Ben Lomond National Park and up to the village. Chains only need to be fitted if directed by Parks Tasmania staff, road signage, or if snow and ice conditions require them.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the mountain soon.

🚗❄️ Snow Chain Requirement Now in Effect for Ben Lomond National Park

From today, 1 June, through to 30 September, all vehicles travelling to Ben Lomond National Park and the Ben Lomond Ski Village must carry snow chains.

Snow chains must be carried from the Lower Car Park through to the Village, regardless of the weather conditions on the day.

Why is this required?

Conditions on the mountain can change rapidly. A clear road can quickly become affected by snow, ice or freezing conditions, making travel difficult and potentially unsafe. Carrying chains helps ensure visitors can safely access and leave the mountain while reducing delays and disruptions for everyone.

⚠️ Important: Follow all road signage and the directions of Parks and Wildlife Service Rangers onsite.

Vehicles not carrying chains may be refused access beyond the Lower Car Park by Parks and Wildlife Rangers.

Need to hire chains?

📍 Ben Lomond Alpine Resort BASE

Our team can help identify the correct chain size for your vehicle and show you how to fit them before heading up the mountain.

🎟️ Parks Passes Available

Parks Passes are also available for purchase and collection at Ben Lomond Alpine Resort BASE, making it easy to organise everything you need before starting your journey up the mountain.

Have a safe trip and enjoy everything Ben Lomond National Park has to offer this winter.
