⛡️ NSW Police & Emergency Services Regatta – Lake Macquarie 2025

What an incredible two days on the beautiful waters of Lake Macquarie! Ten boats lined up for this year’s NSW Police & Emergency Services Regatta, with strong representation from all Emergency Services, the Defence Force, and plenty of local club sailors joining the action.

Day 1 delivered a solid 20-knot breeze, setting the tone early. Tereshenko claimed the first bay course win, while Elusive powered through to take out the Pulbah Island race.

Day 2 began with the lake like a sheet of glass β€” perfect for some fun in the sun β€” before the breeze returned and racing kicked off again. Elusive secured victory in the first windward / leeward race, Flying Colours took out the second, and the final race of the regatta was a bay race which was taken out by Cazbar.

After a great mix of conditions and close racing, the overall standings wrapped up with:
πŸ₯‡ Tereshenko
πŸ₯ˆ Elusive
πŸ₯‰ Flying Colours

A huge shout-out to Lake Macquarie Yacht Club for hosting, and to Empire Bay Marina and Lake Mac Council for their generous sponsorship.

πŸ“… Save the date! Next year’s regatta will be held on the 9th & 10th of November, 2026.

Fair winds and see you all next year! βš“οΈ

Last week, a team from the NSW Police & Emergency Services Sailing Club competed in the sailing event at the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games in Hobart, Tasmania.

The event was run over 3 days with 14 races in all. The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania hosted the event and was very welcoming and generous with their assistance.

Our team finished in a not too shabby 5th place overall, with the other teams watching us closely!!

We intend to send a sailing team to compete in the Police and Emergency Games at the Gold Coast, Qld in October next year.
