MATILDA TO MAKE HER SENIOR DEBUT

The YJFL would like to congratulate former YJFL umpire and current YJFL umpire coach, Matilda Seckold, who is making her senior debut in the NFNL Division 2 clash on Saturday between Old Paradians v Lower Plenty.

After umpiring the 2025 YJFL Youth Girls Grand Final, Matilda has continued to develop her umpiring in a senior competition and thoroughly deserves this opportunity.

Well done Matilda and enjoy the day.

Please help us create a positive match day environment and respect our coaches and participating players by ensuring the area remains clear of additional people during the match.

This weeks Magic Moment goes to Ethan Vogdanos from the Balwyn Junior Football Club Under 16 Boys.

Ethan delievers a beautiful side step around his opponent and then finishes with a unbelievable snap from the boundary!

Please note the closure of the Eastern Freeway in both directions this weekend, Round 9 -Sunday 21st June.

❗ The Eastern Freeway closes in both directions between the Chandler Highway, Kew and Tram Road, Doncaster this weekend.
🕙 Detours will be in place from 10pm Friday 19 June to 5am Monday 22 June.
⬅ If you're driving citybound take Tram Road, Doncaster Road, High Street and Studley Park Road
➡ For outbound travel take the Chandler Highway, Earl Street, High Street, Doncaster Road and Tram Road.
🚧 The Alexandra Parade and Hoddle Street entry to the freeway will be reduced to one lane.
⏳ Delays of up to 90 minutes are expected on the freeway and surrounding roads through Clifton Hill, Alphington, Ivanhoe, Heidelberg, Bulleen, Doncaster, Balwyn North, Kew and Abbotsford.

🚧 Thompsons Road, Balwyn North will close in both directions between Bulleen Road and the outbound freeway entry at the same time as the freeway closure, to complete concreting works.

👷 While the freeway is closed crews will work around the clock to asphalt new freeway lanes, install noise walls, realign the outbound exit to Burke Road, continue works on the Bulleen Road bridge, and remove gantries and lighting along the freeway.
