Thanks all for a memorable day. It's not really an ending, more just a change of direction to chase some wind. I wish you all the very best on your continuing journeys. Wherever the breeze may end up carrying you take a piece of the Saber fractal with you as a gentle reminder to keep exploring and pushing below the simple surface of things.

T minus 7 and counting. We are now in the last week of Saber (Sabre) rattling and then it is off quietly into the night - maybe in search of a new Nirvana. Thanks to those who stuck around til the end and particularly those who have been around from the start.

Hi all, Saber BJJ will officially close its doors on the 31st of August. The final session falls serendipitously on an open mat Saturday, a fittingly symbolic end to a long road trod.

I extend a warm invitation to all past and present Saber practitioners, and also Saber friends, to come in on the 31st for one last liniment fuelled roll within the hallowed walls of the Stan Holloway Memorial Hall, Clarence PCYC. We'll run an extra long session, 1:00-4:00pm, to extend the opportunity for those keen to bid a nostalgic farewell (or a veiled good riddance).

It has been quite an era and although it's a little disconcerting and sad that the time has finally arrived, I am satisfied in the knowledge that at least a little spectrum of Saber DNA has made it out into the big broad world of Jiu-jitsu.

With the end of winter comes not a death but an awakening of a new cycle.

Tuesday past marked the last Saber BJJ nogi class. It was an auspicious opportunity to run over some of my old favourites. I definitely prefer ripping bandaids straight off but I owe it to the last 25 years to let it bleed out slower than I would typically allow.
